People do. It's all about your driving style though. My golf R is 292hp and I can hit 32-35mpg easily on highway and a lot of people with new WRX and STis can achieve 30+ as well.

Conversely, I struggle to get above 22mpg because of my normal driving is all traffic and stoplights. My dad had a C7 and get great mileage for what it was.

Our city Mileage sucks. But I made it from Vegas to Seattle in like 4 & half tanks of gas... So ya highway can get pretty good.

Can't compare the two.
Probably because turbos were not of much spread in the 80s. Not many people want them at that time ...

I can honestly say my corvette was a very low 30 highway MPG on a long trip. 6th gear and like 1500 RPM cruising speed plus aerodynamics help.

My GTO regularly got in the high 20's if you just set the cruise at 78 and let it do its thing, Camaro was the same way but a little worse overall highway mileage.

The GM cruise control system is pretty flawless on anything that had an "LS" motor, not sure about the new "LT" series or the seven speed... but yeah, they get better mileage than most people think.

My TBSS however with a 4 speed and 4.10 gears and 6.0 liter.... mid teens highway mileage at best, lol.

Funny thing about the C7 with the 7 speed: It actually gets better mileage in 6th on the highway. When you put it in eco, it has cylinder deactivation, but 7th is so long that as a V4 it doesn't have the power and has to switch back to V8 mode. I think You'd have to be doing 90+ to get 7th in V4 mode, if you can at all, given aerodynamic increases.

If we get lucky... we might even have a special segment for everyone.

So let me know!

Would you be able to measure the new steering wheel and see what is the diameter?

That's really interesting to know. Thanks. Some time I wish twins have a higher 6th or just a 7th gear.... >.>

We will see if the Subaru lady us there and is feeling nice enough to let me inside.Or if there's even an interior, could just be a shell to show exterior. We will see in a day or two!
