First of all, i want to clear some stuff up; this post isnt to troll. Ive never really gotten into the engine itslef, ive been researching popular performance mods and seeing what people think is good and bad with the car as a whole, and it seems that the car could use some more power, so i found these mods which will supposedly make it much better for performance (aside from bodykits). If you feel offended that i am asking such a question and dont know much about the engine itself, then thats your problem. I guess i'll just research the 2013 engine, but that probably wont answer my question in the OP anyways.

That said, you might save a few thousand dollars if you buy a 2013 which could allow you to put the savings towards mods. Good luck and welcome to the forum! |

Regardless, any model you buy should have the same engine bits. And I kinda get the troll responses in this thread. If we're on this forum we're probably all sick of hearing the 2013 vs 2014 rumors lol |

Ok I haven't dived into the engine at all and haven't done any research to improve performance on the engine and I knew it was the same engine. That is why people called it a troll.

Like mentioned somewhere above the 2014 is about the same as the 2013 (except some padding and a different head unit). Before you start ordering a bunch of "power mods" I'd suggest you wait until you get your car and drive it for a while, then decide what you want it to do best (DD, track, autox or just go faster). You may find out it is pretty stable and scoots along quite nicely right out of the box.... humfrz |

The car is fast enough to have fun in easily. It'll never be fast enough for highway drags but it wasn't built for that. My friend drove mine through some twisty roads on the weekend and commented that even though he wasn't driving as hard as he would in his STI he was having way more fun. IMHO This car just needs an exhaust, intake and tune to become a really peppy little sportscar with barrels of fun. If this is your first car that you're considering modifying I would also suggest you don't go with a turbo kit. It's never as simple as bolting on a turbo. There are tons of additional costs and different factors to consider. Like humfrz said, buy the car and drive it first before you go nuts modifying it. |

It shouldn't require a person to be a rocket scientist to look to the left column and see at the time of the op it was post number one and he joined our forum perhaps a little over a week ago. Because of the car we all enjoy there are a lot of first time car buyers here who have plenty of time in front of them to learn what they need to know about cars. Taking the first step on a car forum seems perfectly natural. We're getting an increasing number of members who need to lighten up a little bit.

Lol, the OP wants to spend as much on Greddy parts as he will/did on the car, but clearly needs to do a LOT of research if he can't figure out the differences (or lack there of) between the '13 and '14.
So why Greddy exactly?
