Not really hard at all. Keep in mind the car is apparently supposed to be on and idling when the oil reading is taken.

I'm really happy to hear this as I'm planning to install this weekend. Even 275whp - 15whp = 260whp on 91 octane and zero supporting mods! I think KW has only been marketing/promising ~+70whp? If this is true the kit looks closer to +90-100whp?

I'm hoping L.A. Stormwatch 2014 doesn't put a damper on my install.

Better to under promise and over deliver @captain_jack be sure that it really is low before you add more, you don't wanna have too much either! I think most stock + tune cars on a dynojet are around 170-180 right? So +100whp would seem about right. We're at 330whp right now on e85 with no supporting mods but still have work to do there still. I'm not Bill but I have a hunch that we can iron out a bit more power on e85.

I find it interesting that they're charging $100 more for the Rotrex to be in the "KW exclusive" black housing. Not a discriminator for me when I decided on this kit over the JR kit - especially if it will cost me another $100 and also because I got the black blower without even asking for it.

Does the front bumper have to be taken off everytime it needs a filter change? I'm assuming it does

Yes, it will. That's really not a big deal however, considering the interval on the filter.

Yeah, it is definitely a PITA to take off the bumper just to change the air filter. But there is at least a perception (maybe dis-proven by CSG's IAT logs) that the air filter location in the bumper draws cooler air into to blower, through the IC, and eventually into the intake manifold.

In any case...you're supercharging the car. Are you really gonna get all hot and bothered that you have to take the bumper off once a year or less? Really??? It takes 15 minutes max to take the bumper off..this is trade off for consistently better IAT's is definitely a worthy trade IMO.

Crowding of the oil filter / sandwich plate area and the fact that the bumper has to come off for air filter service are the two significant annoyances of the KW kit. But I don't think either would stop me from buying it... and it's on my short list.

As far as CSG's IAT measurements (which are great to see, thanks Mike), remember that these are post IC measurements. Really what his measurements show is that the whole system (intake / compressor / intercooler) works.
