You should be perfectly fine with any reasonable blend of E85 (winter or summer). The ECU will trim fuel accordingly. Same reason it is able to compensate if you only get 11.4 gallons of E85 vs a full 13 gallons.

As of yesterday morning's update, there is a bug in the user software that prevents you downloading the the log from from your OFT. We hope to have this sorted out by tomorrow morning. Sorry about that

So the past couple of days I noticed a couple hard cold starts. I have an auto start alarm so when the engine cranks over the car starts for a couple seconds and then dies. But when it tries to start again it stays runing. Not a biggie for me because I expected this with the e85 fuel. So I wanted to know if others had experienced this.

I had my first non-start this morning. Had to give it two tries before it finally started running. But like you, I expected this with E85.

I had it yesterday. Check your trims and see if you are running a bit lean at WOT. I was. Added a gallon of 91 and trims cleaned up, cold start was a non-issue today as well.

for those that are using the torque app to monitor the ecu that if you set your fuel type for e85, the correct stoichometric afr reading for e85 is 9.7 and will display as such so not to be alarmed if it doesn't read 14.7 as i was the first time. again this is only if you have the fuel setting set to e85. otherwise if fuel type is set to reg gas it still reads 14.7 which is still fine because the o2 lamba is still 1.0. well this is how i understand it.

Not sure how the Torque app calculates AFR but if it's read/interpreted by o2 sensor data like everything else I've seem, stoich will still be displayed by 14.7 on e85. Same as gasoline. From there, it will richer (lower) under load just as one would expect. While e85 does indeed requires much more fuel mass per fixed oxygen mass, it is still monitored by oxygen sensors that assume gasoline operation and equate oxygen content levels to lambda/AFR.

yup that's how i understand it too. i'll most likely switch the fuel setting back just to be consistent with numbers that im familiar with.

would you be able to share to how the advanced multiplier data is captured. id like to use the app to monitor it too for day-to-day use since the display is larger but still use the oft data logging for the track.

I don't think you will be able to capture anything but standard obd2 data with the Torque app (or any other universal datalogging device). PIDs unique to subaru will require unique CAN commands. But that is beyond the range of my knowledge. I just ask our programmers what we need and they find a way to do it

Also more data display options will soon be coming for the OFT. Some of which will mean big easy to read numerical displays.

Its only been in the low 30s for us here in Mid Ga... car starts first bump of the key... E85 tune.

I have noticed a substantial increase in power over stock tune and the speed at which the grin comes on my face since running the E85 tune. Still loving my OFT!!

Almost ready to pop on the OFHeader... just need to figure out who's gift is getting returned to fund it...

I'm assuming they just multiply the reported AFR by .66 to get e85 AFR readings since the sensors are set for gas.

check the trims first. If you are still slightly rich, no reason to add 91.

Looks like mine was running lean at WOT as well, LTFT went as high as 5.14. Added a gallon of 91 as @jeebus suggested and all is well.

AM also dropped to .98 for a bit but went back up before I added the gallon of 91...
