Ah, my mistake!

But $270 (discounted) for a RS1 tow hook cover vs. $5 for OEM non-RS1 cover is insanity!

Yeah Toyota calls it "VIN Protection" Proof of ownership and high asking prices is suppose to keep non owners from wanting to buy the unique parts.

I call BS as Toyota is reusing the unique parts not base model FR-S owners as they buy the parts from other owners. Look at the new 2019 86 TRD Special Edition it's got the sideskirts and rear trunk spoiler from the RS 1.0. So much for the quote Toyota: "Exclusive Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0" other highlights are the custom-designed aero kit with a rear spoiler and side fender garnish.

I seen some comments about used pricing /value posted above even with low mileage the FR-S/BRZ/86 takes a hit on resell value. Look on websites like autotrader and you will see all twin models lose value quick.

And the 10 Series is actually lower priced than standard models!
