Good point.

Dyno a car that's been run for awhile and has had timing pulled back, install mods, reconnect battery and you'll see a better delta.

See OTL's bullshit header dyno...

FWIW my car made exactly the same power before/after ECU reset on the dyno using decent 93 octane fuel, Kevin was on 91 which the car seems to pull power on.

Wow that's super impressive.

I wonder how much of that gain is due to the header and how much is from the over + front pipe? I think we've already established there are no gains from the catback.

That's great. I'm running similar hardware setup (though separate JDL OP/FP and different catback) also with 91 octane but moderately high elevation. Can't wait to get tuned. I figure that should offset the power I'm losing with the thinner air.

It's the elusive 5th gear pull in the wild.

That has to be it! 30whp and 40ftlbs of torque will hardly be noticeable. The folks that think tuning isn’t worth it were right.

Does anyone know if CSG's results are with a catted or catless EL header?

% increases are nice. Curves are nice. Very encouraging for early data with beta software.

As for the 91oct + ECU reset comment, I assume this is a sarcastic jab at people who are consistently negative against showing gains for the 2nd gens/FA24? Hard to tell with this place.. more toxic than VW forums sometimes..

It's the catless header. JDL doesn't have a catted 4-2-1 EL on the market yet. They teased a prototype a few months ago but it isn't ready for production.

I was being serious. I'd be dumbfounded if the EL header actually gained that much peak horsepower since it didn't do much of anything vs the JDL UEL back to back on stock tune.

Not being sarcastic. The ECU seems to pull a ton of timing on 91, Kevin Vo seemingly got trapped with that when he did the OTL header test and suddenly the car made 20 hp at the peak... Which hasn't been seen by anybody else but CSG who is also in California.

Oh boy. Definitely fun reading all the comments. Hopefully someone grabbed the screenshot of the post with the FA20 baseline vs. the FA24 baseline for more details on what the dyno generally reads!

so it sounds like I am really missing out on crappy Canadian 91 octane even with the stock tune? When we lost 94 I definitely noticed on a OFT 2+ first gen
