Post 2023 MY announced, dealers started taking orders

https://media.subaru.com/pressreleas...-brz-sport-car

Looks like no major changes, other than a $600 increase in MSRP.

Yup, true. On the phone right now with my Subaru salesman (same gentleman that sold me the STI) and he's putting in the order for me right now. He has no information on build dates. He said 2-4 months or 4-6 months. NO clue. Crossing fingers...

Does anyone know the model year production cycle dates for the BRZ?

My '22 was built in September of '21. That could mean '22s would continue production until at least Summer before the switch to the MY '23s. No idea where mine landed in the production history since it was a corporate vehicle I didn't buy until January. With the huge demand and order backlog I could see them building '22s as long as possible.

I think Subaru stop building 22's a while back- I can't find the source but it was posted here a few months back that Subaru stopped taking orders for 2022. I could be wrong..

My 2019 STI was built spring of 2018 and I purchased it first week of Aug. of 2018. So maybe 2023's will start landing this summer?

They stopped taking orders on Jan13. That does not mean they stopped making the cars then. Their statement was that between orders and allotted cars they had already reached the maximum planned capacity. From appearances and other statement though it looks like they never even managed to reach those planned numbers.

They usually start each year production in early summer.
Unfortunately what they historically used to "usually" do has very little meaning in the last two years.
Wanting to build more and being able to build more is not the same thing.

I believe this is US or North America only. Dealer over here are still accepting 2022 orders and builds.

Why sell 2022brz when you can sell 2023 brz for $600 more! I guess its their way for raising prices in the middle of the year. oh sorry we ran out of 2022 brzs!

Yeah, nearly 10% year-on-year inflation has nothing to do with a price increase.

Oh here we go with the weirdass business theories again. The $600 increase on the difference between the number of 2022 and 2023 cars made is not even a flyspeck in the Subaru budget. Be like you getting a thousandth of a cent a week raise.
You really think they are going to lose sales between now and whenever the 2023 shows up for $600 a unit? God those planners at Subaru are stupid.
