Good on Detroit -

The last time I was in Detroit, they were still making Packards there.

Yes, sir! She's still going to be with me for the foreseeable future, at least until I finish with school. I have my sights set on a Lexus GSF (yes, boring snooze mobile exterior wise but it has a v8!). Not planning on getting another car unless engine blows up or it gets totaled in an accident.

As for road trips, not much. Went down to Portland a few months back but not in the FRS. Just got back from Spokane yesterday for some site seeing. She finally got to stretch her legs on I-90 after spending most of the year trapped in Seattle.

Life/career wise, I'm just sitting around for the next 4 weeks waiting for school to start again. Oh, I also got a VA job! They won't start me until mid-next month, unfortunately. People are right, government moves slow... took me 2 months from application to getting formal offer.

Hope everything is great on your end!

FOR CRYEN OUT LOUD!

I just saw this:

"Toyota Has A Solution For Accidentally Mixing Up Pedals"

https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news...cid=spartandhp

My take is that if a person is too old to be able to differentiate between the gas and brake, they shouldn't be driving!

According to some people our cars have had this feature since 2013

In addition, Toyota's new safety feature will also detect if the driver slammed the accelerator, even if there isn't any obstacle in front of the car. The engine's power will be suppressed in this instance

I want to take it a bit further and say people should be required to re-test both theory and practical portions upon license renewal.

If that's true, I wonder how. There's no front facing cameras on our cars, unless I'm terribly mistaken and didn't notice anything for 4.5 years of ownership.

As far as your sites being set on a Lexus GSF, which looks to be a fine automobile for sure, for about the same price, you could get a fully loaded C-8 Corvette, think on that for a spell -

Congratulations on getting the VA job - Tell us about it.

We have a good summer here in granddaughter land. Yep, day care starts at 0600 and ends about 1800 hrs. The 10 and 12 year olds hit the couches at 0601 and sleep till noon. The 3 year old is all over the place doing everything, all day -

Come back and visit more often -

So that's why forced induction cars sometimes fail inspection. They've removed OEM safety equipment.

Dude, it was a joke on the "It is too slow" crowd. You need to get out more often!

Well, that ought to increase gas mileage -

C8 looks awesome, especially at the price point. But I'm looking for something less sports car. While I was intrigued and impressed upon release, the C8 doesn't tickle my emotions. Maybe I would have to drive it? Plus, can't beat that reliability from Toyota/Lexus. They make boring cars, but they'll go 200k+ miles easily.

And glad to hear you're still enjoying the life of being a g-paw! I'll be there in 30 years
