Harness bar options like ZN6?
I've had my BRZ for six weeks now and have been searching for harness bar options that don't chop up the interior and do provide the proper angles for the belts. It's a little complicated because I am, uh, funsize. Only 5'6" lol.
I found this one from Australia - ZN6 - that is what I have been expecting. Is there anything like it on this side of the pond? I'm partial to running a camlock and a seat with 5/6pt potential. Otherwise, Schroth recommended running a Rallye3 to the rear upper intertia reel mount. Is anyone running that setup? It's at least minimally invasive. I don't like the lack of symmetry, though. Thank you! |

Hmm, that completely intrudes on the rear cabin and is visible. The ZN6 option is completely in the trunk.
I will talk to my cage guy, this might require welding. |

If the harness bar can provide some structural support to the seatback, it's far safer than running it farther back. If you're having something custom made it's best to be in a position where the harness bar is close to or makes contact with the rear of the seat when it's in your driving position and is reinforced with a partial cage structure beyond just the bar. I've been looking into this a bunch as well and I've decided I'm going to have someone custom fab me a welded-in half-cage as I don't think any of the bolt in options are quite what I want. I'd love to see what you end up coming up with. |
