Yes e85 helps in high boost applications. I believe its properties help prevent detonation.

Errr. No. I think it will end up similar to the Nissan 350Z kit. Pricing will be finalised soon when production on kits is finished and ready for sale.

More torque!!! thats where the fun is! Makes you feel like your going faster than you really are, besides I love that 'throw you back in your seat' feel. Supercharger for days, though accelerated has my attention!

I apologize for the total noob question here, I am new to FI. With the turbo kits being developed, what kind of turbo lag can we expect.... When shopping for the FRS, I test drove the 2013 genesis 2.0T and hated the turbo lag that it had! Would we expect the HKS, AP, or AVO kits be similar or different with respect to lag?

I'm waiting for the Lysholm Screw type supercharger. Centrifugal type ones are crappy unless driven to high rpm...

Good work HKS. My preferable method of FI are centrifugal superchargers on small high revving engines.

I really wonder who here has owned or driven a high whp tuned NA car. Unless gutted, they can be quite peaky in small displacement.
I know people bring up throttle response with turbo, but I think it has more to do with the instant kick, rather than the softer punch a turbo has. But throttle response on some high rpm small displacement engines may be snappy, but power doesn't hit until 7-8000rpm. I wonder how many people would really chase a proper 250-260whp setup on this 2.0 engine. Surely people will get there, but to knock on the softer response of a proper turbo setup doesn't make sense when you're able to put down tons more mid-range in comparison for the same hp level. I've built turbo NA engines, and they can be very responsive. Linear response usually requires a big turbo, and there can be some latency. But I'm running a large 6262 .82ar on a 2.0 engine now. It has a progressive and linear output, very similar to a highly tuned version of this engine NA. It just makes 300whp more |
