Tcoat doesn't sugarcoat anything, he's super honest , if you find a good reputable shop and get them to communicate with your insurance company it will literally become good as new. I had an 07 CR-V a few years back that had the frame bent from a red light runner, good as new and drove better and tighter than stock from the factory. You had a bad experience doesn't mean he will, you should've told whoever did the unibody pull or repair to look into fixing the issue that it wasn't "the same car it was" most body shops warranty there work till the job is perfect if you don't go to some shady place.

It's amazing what can be done. We had a new 2005 Subaru Forester, less tha 90 days old. One of the kids ran into the back of an even newer Acura. Front airbags deployed, seat belt tensioners did you their thing and the front smashed but not into the engine.
However, one of the frame rails had to be replaced.

I figured it would never drive right again as well as eat tires.

I was wrong. The collision center did an incredible job. Car drives without issue, 140,000 miles later. Tires never seem to wear out. Paint is indistinguishable between factory and repair. I am amazed at what was accomplished.

I took my BRZ to them when I had hail damage last year. Another great outcome.

About paint. No matter what it is, from factory or aftermarket. How it last depends on how you treat and clean your car.

Seriously, the twins aren't like Gen II Vipers (aka curb kissers/widowmakers).

Just make sure you have proper tires for the conditions and don't try taking traction control off in iffy weather unless you know what you are doing
