I just tried to call GTRadial (866 GT Tires which is also the same # as Giti). Select sales and it just rings 5 times and then says 'the person you are trying to reach is unavailable'. No option to leave a message/etc.

I've emailed both giti and GT Radial asking about this tire and when/if the SX2 RS will be available in 17" sizes. No response.

Called a local dealer here and he says he can't get them right now (sounded like this region).
Can use 245-45?

Try DMing @GTRadialusa on IG, they are pretty responsive there.

Mike Meeiem at GT Radial responded to my email request for a source on 245/40-r17 SX2s and if the RS would be avail in 17" sizes soon. He suggested Simpletire and asked where I was for a suggestion of local dealers, and said the SX2 RS 17" sizes should be available early next year.

Anyone know how the RS will stack up against the old SX2? More grip but at the cost of higher wear rate?

Does anyone know if the SX2 will still be available in 2021, or is discontinued in favor of SX2 RS?

Also wanna know what's up with GT Radial and the SX2s. They were recommended (I believe by Mike) but had no luck finding them in 245/40r17. Had to go with something else, which is unfortunate because I've heard great things about these, except for old stock or no stock situations.

I have a set of 235-45 17's from Simple Tire installed in July, I'll look for the build date. They have been great so far.

I mistyped, they are 235 45 17 but even if they were 245 45 18 they would not look like that.

Date code is 4318.

I got my 245/40R17 direct through a GT Radial contact a few months ago. They had a mfg 2018 stamp on them, but I'm not too concerned since they are my track set.

Honestly, I'd be comfortable running 235/40R17 as well on my 17x9. For years I ran Federal RSRR 235 wide. I just prefer 245 whenever I can because it protects the rim a little better.

More recently, I bought some 235/40R17 for my gf a couple months ago from Simpletire. Also came with a mfg 2018 stamp.

I am on 17x8 so I may need to go 235. I really like these tires for the cost.
