I'm sorry to hear that.

It might cheer you up to know that somebody at my last job backronymed QUESADILLA, TACO, and BURRITOS into titles of various documents without getting in trouble.

You would have to present them in the appropriate manner though

It is a bit of a mixed blessing. I should be able to get the house I am working on mostly done in that time as well as help my buddy that is building his house. The forest fires set me back 4-5 weeks. This should push me ahead of schedule granted I don't run out of money

My goal is to get "taco" into a technical document.

I just updated my 2021 goals. Last year I was able to get "Snark" added to the company application matrix managed by security. We're up to version 3.17.

Bonus points if it gets delivered in plain sight to a customer.

We have taco cooling units for some of our equipment. I giggle every time it comes up in a meeting.

Thankfully the management here is smart enough to keep me as far away from the customers as possible. Usually.

I am wondering how our GM is going to sign checks. Each check takes 2 signatures, there are 3 of us authorized to sign. If I am gone he is going to have to sign but he just had shoulder surgery to fix a torn ligament and is in very restrictive sling. He can't hardly write his name.

3. It's just a mix of everything and my issues with the new job, eight months later, are normal "challenges" that I need to work through
4. I've seen and experienced enough to know it's not the right job and should try looking for a different team or different company altogether

I'm already able to switch teams if I can find one with open headcount but I'm worried about going down that path because most of the same factors would exist even on a different team. We'll be WFH at least through the end of June now. It also means burning the bridge with the current boss and team I have.

Makes me wish I would've known the world would be like this and I would've stayed at my previous job. It wasn't great either, but at least I felt more comfortable with coworkers there and felt relatively comfortable being there in general. Eight months into this new job and I absolutely can't stand working with 3 people on my team for various reasons and I know absolutely nobody outside my team, so I have nobody to talk to. At the old job I knew so many people outside my team that I always had someone to grab coffee/beer/food or shoot the shit with.

Well, spike021, that's a shame that you are having difficulties adjusting to your new job -

I would suggest that you go with your option #3 for the time being, at least till after the first of the year. Let the holidays pass, let us get past this up coming election and the fallout and let us get on with a COVID vaccine.

After the first of the year, reassess your situation and make adjustments as necessary.
