The good ones only go back so far. They don't start until Choco left us.

My pre-order reservation is in boys.

There were already 3 reservations at my dealer!

I had to sell my 2012 GTS this year to put a deposit down on a house - it was a pristine condition and much loved car that I've been incredibly sad about losing.

I'm finally happy again.

The irony of a CTR owner being one of the most vocal critics of this car's exterior design is not lost on me. Hopefully I'm not alone on that observation. I guess cars look ugly unless they have 6+ fake vents incorporated into the design.

What I've read is the base model only gains 15 lb. That's commendable IMO.

My earlier comments about the car were only on the slightly positive side. Given more time to look it over, I'm coming around a bit. To the point that I might consider purchasing one. (MIGHT).

U rite. I own a CTR and much prefer the look.

The glorious thing about opinions, everyone has one.

The front end of this BRZ looks like dogshit, just like the entirety of a 17 GTi.

Read where?

Subie stats:
Curb weight (lbs.) Estimated for U.S. model:
6-speed manual: Premium 2,815 lbs. Limited 2,835
Automatic Premium 2,864 lbs. Automatic Limited 2,881 lbs.

19 Premium MT curb weight = 2789

That is 26 pounds in my math. Still very little gain though.

It is not negative to point out that there is indeed a dip still there. It is smaller but still there. That is fact
Your sarcasm missed the mark since I am one of the ones that never had an issue nor concern with the existing "dip" so don't give a flying fuck if it is still there even though greatly reduced.

I am a downer to you because you want everybody to join hands and sing kumbaya and not have anything bad to say. That is just not the real world.

You must be a sad little man to manage to twist every point I make into some negative angle.

I already said everything I wanted to say, but I'll restate it again. No, you don't have to be sworn to the car. No, I don't believe Subaru/Toyota can do no wrong, but if what they say is true, it's going to be overall improvement over the old car.

But I dunno, maybe I am a little biased. That's probably why I'm on this forum. For car enthusiasts. You know, people who are enthusiastic about the car?

If that make me a sad little man, then that applies literally everyone else here, and I assume that includes you.

Also, I just found out that the 80lbs difference only applies to the auto. It looks like they managed to keep the weight almost the same despite the bigger engine

I see people's beef with the side skirt though, it does sorta stick out, whereas the current car has a more continuous look throughout the profile. But I still prefer the side profile on the new car.

And the current 86 front bumper is probably the worst front bumper design on the market, looks like the kouki 2G Eagle Talon front bumper. And the Type R is an exercise of how not to design a car, so much so that the new Civic has dialed back.

Dude. You really want to play a "I am an enthusiast game?"
I have bought two new ones now. How many have you bought new to show them there is a market?
The 14 FRS had 150,000+ miles on it when I sold it. I turned down a higher offer than I actually took because I thought the lower bidding buyer was a better home for it.
The only reason I sold was I wanted one of the last of the first gen. I got lucky and managed to snag a Hakone. I had to wait several weeks while they shipped it across the continent for me. I also payed full asking since they went to so much trouble to get me one.
I have indirectly assisted hundreds of people in deciding if this is the car for them. I have directly assisted 20 in their actual purpose.
Two local dealerships have had people give me a call with questions on the car when considering buying it.
I have spent hours speaking with the dealer techs and passing on some of the more usual issues I learned on here.
I lost count of how many I have helped resolve issues with their cars.
I have spent well over $5,000 to travel to meets in California and the PNW and met with other member all across the USA. I was even a sponsor for the 2018 Norcal meet with almost 300 people in attendance.
I have spent endless hours here discussing the good the bad and the ugly of this car and the industry in general and sometimes have a little fun.

Yet because you read a handful of posts where I want facts not theory and try to correct what I feel is misinformation I am a "nihilistic old man" and apparently in your eyes a poor "enthusiast"?
Being enthusiastic for a car does not mean you can not discuss the bad points as well as the good. I don't give a shit if you want to listen to or believe what I have to say but there are loads of others that do want to know.

This second Gen is going to be a great car. Not sure I ever said otherwise. I just think it is ugly as fuck and designed for a whole different demographic than the first gen. If that is being a bad "enthusiast" in your mind then so be it.
