I am currently looking for a lightweight rwd car with a turbo to replace my FRS, any good option on the market?

My frs is currently supercharged but running e85 is less them 150 miles to a tank and running 91 is just not fun.

I was looking at 135i but they weight over 3300.

You didn't specify your price range but since you are asking here I think you mean the same price range with a supercharged FR-S.

There is nothing that compares with a supercharged FR-S regarding performance and handling in the same price range. In the same price range, Mustang Ecoboost, WRX, Golf R, Focus RS are turbo but they are heavier and not faster than 91 octane supercharged FR-S. If you can afford it, one upgrade I can imagine is 911 Carrera, all 911s are turbo now. Of course 911 price range brings many other options. So, I don't think there is anything better than your FR-S for the same price range. My recommendation is keeping it.

Not turbo but at 330HP doesn't need it.

Other then that there are the Mustangs, Camaros, a few Porsches and the already said several times Fiat.

Are you expecting us to know of something that a Google search would not turn up?

There isn't many new cars in the bracket price wise.

Lately I've been eyeing a 17' Miata RF Club w/BBS wheels and Brembo's. Add on a Flying Miata catback, and Edelbrock's S/C [ready-to go (tuned) kit.] That's a pretty attractive package for a low-budget daily car.

I know a low boosted Miata would be slower than my turbocharged twin though. I simply have went too far with my modifying my BRZ for it to be practical anything longer than a 2 hour drive. I've skipped pretty much all of this track season due to repairs and not being able to cover the inevitable cost of the next thing that may break. Putting in transmission #2 this weekend. :/

I'd also spring for a late 981 6-clyinder Cayman S. Sadly they, even used all seem slightly out of my dollars reach hovering in the high 40's

Last of it's kind for a while unless porsche goes back to NA but probably not..... the only real Direct upgrade of twins.

(*Actually if mazda ever made a new RX7 that would be the car... since Kiske 's name always remind me Keisuke in initial D.

My wife and I have gone back and forth with the MX5. I love the soft top, but she isn't a big fan and feels too cramped. She much prefers the RF, but I can't justify spending $35,000 on an MX5. Unfortunately, buying one and adding a supercharger and supporting mods (brakes, wheels/tires, suspension, etc) would easily bring the total cost up to $45,000+ and that's too much for my taste on such a small car.

I'd be much more open to that with an 86/BRZ because the car is still usable. I agree that simplicity is key with these cars though. That's why I kept my last one N/A.
