People are losing their shit about EA WRC because there is a new patch coming that uses a kernel-level anti cheat. Seems like this is the new standard. While I'm big into PC gaming, I honestly have little knowledge about anti-cheats and which are good and bad. I have a basic understanding of what kernel level means, but outside the people screaming about how dangerous it is, it seems there are far more games that have it than I realized. Not sure whether to panic, be cautious, or outright abandon all games that have it. But it seems to be a developing trend I'm noticing with games these days. Thoughts?

The persons developing cheats can get around it by using the hypervisor in the computer, basically running the game in a virtual machine that they then have near full control over and can feed back to the anti-cheat software any answer they think it expects. I rarely play online games and even then only with "known persons" (my family) so it's not a large concern for me.

I am enjoying Ghost of Tsushima on PC but at 20 hours I'm wondering if I have seen all the game has to offer. I enjoy questing about an open world but the scenery and tasks seem to be quite similar so far.
Performance is abysmal; I'm playing at 1920x1200 on a 2k monitor with a lot of the graphics setting turned down. This doesn't cause me any grief but I wonder why at proper rez and full settings I get huge freezes and stutters.

Watching JackFrag's video on it. It looks solid. I like the idea of bad guy AI like Ready or Not.

Not sure I'm completely buying the premise, but the game itself looks like a lot of potential.

Just finished Baldurs Gate 3 and i have to say its so good. Baldur's Gate 3 really nails the classic RPG experience with its deep storytelling, engaging characters, and strategic gameplay. The attention to detail in both narrative and gameplay mechanics makes it a standout in the genre. I am not a fan of turn-based games but BG3 changed my mind. If you're like me and enjoy trying out different games without spending a dime, check out this site: Playhop. They have everything from casual puzzles to intense RPGs, and it's all easily accessible. What games are you all playing lately? Let's share some recommendations!

Decided to pick up the Ryzen 7 5700X3D while on a really good sale. I was curious about the X3D chips and while the 5800X3D would be the better, I was curious about the cooler running 5700X3D. I must say, it is an ever so slight upgrade from my trusty 5600x. Frames are up a bit and the chip runs roughly as cool as my 5600x. I'm happy with the outcome, but I'm simply buying time till the new chips release later this year.

I was upgrading from a Ryzen 5 2600X so even a 5700X3d would have been a massive upgrade for me lol. |

The last game I played had me hooked from start to finish, and I’ll tell you, it wasn’t some blockbuster triple-A title. No, it was a little gem called “Snake Color Brake” that you can find at https://snakecolorbrake.com. Now, if you’re a fan of those classic snake games, this one’s right up your alley but with a twist. Instead of just growing your snake by gobbling up dots, you’re smashing through blocks that match your snake’s color. It starts off deceptively simple, but as you progress, the pace picks up, and suddenly, you’re in this frantic dance of strategy and reflexes. The endless mode kept me on my toes, trying to outdo my last score while keeping an eye on that worldwide leaderboard. It’s a game that doesn’t demand much, just a bit of your time, but the payoff is addictive fun. The colorful graphics are easy on the eyes, and the gameplay loop is smooth enough to keep you coming back for more. It’s a refreshing break from the usual heavy hitters I play, and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need – a casual, fast-paced challenge that doesn’t ask too much but delivers plenty in return.
