I know this is a lot to ask but can someone take the bolt out and take a picture of it next to a tape measure?
I'm getting the STI bolt today or tomorrow and want to make sure it's very close in dimensions. |

I currently have an oil cooler with a sandwich plate and this is what it says for the bolt "lengthened 20mm x 1.5 filter extension". Any chance the STI bolt is 20mm? (http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/p...andwich_Plates) |

I ordered the Forester bolt from Heurburger, even though it was a super pain in the ass. They were one of the few who still have it in stock. I don't think the STI bolt will work but in the event that it does I'm sure I can just sell the Forester bolt here locally. I can also do a comparison as well.

Here's the Forester bolt, part #21317AA070: For shits and giggles I measured the cooler assembly itself: These last two are what sticks out of the inside of the cooler assembly (i.e. what threads into the block): Hope this helps. If you need a pic of the OEM FA20 bolt, yeah can't help you there just yet... -alex |

Here is what the STI bolt looks like. It's gonna be close... I've already verified with a friend the thread pitch is correct. |

Its a subaru and a japanese car. they stay with metric.. lol. The oil coolers are the same. Its just that the forester has a little barrier to prevent a messy oil change. You do know that the cusco kit uses a sti oil cooler/warmer right?

it will fit if its the same metric size as the forester one. the only difference between the two is the little barrier on the forester cooler. if its a completely different metric size bolt, then obviously, it wouldn't even bolt into the car with the oil cooler. I'm not sure why subaru changes the part number for it but its different between every generation turbo subaru... yet all the parts are interchangeable.

Hopefully it all works out the same, so that way we have alternate part numbers to order since the supply is exhausted at the moment.

STI Bolt doesn't fit. It's a quarter inch too long. Now I could trim a quarter inch of thread off of the end that goes to the block, but that's half ass. I'm going to send it back. I tried to install it but because the threads stop it doesn't tighten down the oil cooler.
