After installing OFH and going to stage 2 UEL, I've noticed the cold start is pretty damn loud. It seemed pretty high to me (couldn't tell you exactly what RPM it was, but I will check next time).. anyone have a quick and dirty guide to editing idle speed? Does this need to be done with romraider? I just want to knock it down a few hundred RPMs. I think it may be due to resonance, and lowering it by a few hundred rpm may fix it for me

okay nvm, I'm looking at romraider now and found the idle control table. Could anyone explain what the 6 different targets are? Target A, B, C, D, E, F

thanks
Josh

So with the help of Neslmar and about 5 hours of study (didnt sleep a wink) I have come to a conclusion that the Stg 2 EL flash is safer for my car than the Stg 1 I have been using. I am sporting the nameless OP/DP (1 piece with high flow cat) and axleback and this must have been leaning out my car.

With the stg 1 and this mod the car was running on the lean side. LT fuel trims were greater as well

http://www.datazap.me/u/boofneenee/b...631&mark=11587

and here is stg 2
http://www.datazap.me/u/boofneenee/s...2156&mark=1826

I am still trying to understand KC learned and ignition advance. Not sure how the ignition advance compares between the 2 tunes. Not sure I understand it just yet. If so can someone tell me or give me an example of what an ideal timing should look like? When tuners say the car is pulling timing would I expect to see the ignition advance value start to drop as the rpms go higher? thats an observation I noticed when comparing the two tunes. Also, in the stg 2 I noticed that the ignition advance started to go down at 6k while stg 1 it started to go down around 5.6k

In any event,, very very happy man over here. My car appears to run stg 2 with stock headers and their is considerable improvement in performance.

ooh and this is with 93 pumps gas.

give this thread a read, last few pages mostly are the ones with the info, ive calmed my cold start down ALOT with this. if you have any issues figuring it out let me know. as far as just changing the idle speed wont do much at all noise wise. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55676

finally got WOT pulls done on a dyno over the weekend.

http://www.datazap.me/u/nardi330/22-...ta=1-2-7-10-12

looks like knocking quite badly in the 2000-3000rpm range.

any comments are appreciated.

thanks.

ps. @steve99, i guess i need to look at pulling timing between 2000-3000rpm...

@shiv@vishnu could you look at above log especially 5000-7000 where KC learned drops to 0 thanks

Yep Iam =0.8 at start recovers to 0.95 with driving over 4000 rpm

Can see a few Knock corrections over -1 in the 2000-3000 range this is most likely cause of IAM drop.

Also If you have a look at your "KC learned" in the 5000-7000 area and compare it to the values in the "Knock correction max A" table the values are 2-3 degrees lower.

as your IAM =0.9 that will be dropping values by 10% but the values are lower than that which indicates FLCK (which OFT does not monitor but can be derived.

Your KC Learned is dropping sharply over 5000 and by 6000 it near 0, where it should be following the values in the "Knock correction Max A" table multiplied by IAM. So their more correction going on.

Look at rpm over 6000 your KC learned has dropped to "0" in most cases.

example around 6000-6200 rpm engine load 1.2 , Knock correction max A table says value should be 3.87 if all good ie IAM=1 and no FLCK.

As IAM=0.9 KC learned should be 3.87 * 0.9 = 3.4 but it is 0 this indicated knock correction likely due FLCK of -3.4 degrees.

My adjustments only target the 2000-3500 area, but our fuel 98 RON appears to be resulting in knock correction in the 5000-7000 rpm area as well.

Yours does seem worse than mine and I suspect this may be due to your running a bit leaner than mine (still ok I believe) due your exhaust mods.

I only log about -1.5 knock correction FLKC (logged with tactrix) in 5000-7000 rpm area.

Could pull more timing but your just nobbling the tune. If I run united 100 octane this high RPM knock retard is gone or very much minimised

For me I'm running my modded advance map to reduce knock 2000-3000 and stop IAM drop plus running 100 RON fuel to stop high RPM FLKC retarding timing.

Note the stock tune does the same in both areas on 98 RON

.

So here is my OFT log from a dyno day. It's stage 1 tune (AT) with perrin inlet and intake (not the BIGMAF version). Looking for any feedbacks since this is new to me so not really knowing what to look for beside knocks.

I ran it slightly lean for a few mos and my car is running just fine. iAM almost always stayed at. 1 on 93 premium. If your running 93 why not try the stage 2 like i did? The stg. 2 appears better per the logs than the stage. 1! (Although i could really use confirmation from someone if they could check it ....cough cough ....Shiv) Log the data and post all to review. If you dont have 93 then i dunno. Custom tune for you maybe ?

I just updated to the new 1.58 and here is my Log, I'd appreciate any feedback as I think it looks good but I am not very knowledgeable on tuning yet.

Stage 2 EL, 93 Octane

http://datazap.me/u/eric1855/run-1-s...log=0&data=1-9

I ran the Blytheville Pro this weekend on the 1.42 Stage 2 Map, and the car performed great. Feels good now too, about the same.

One thing I noticed is that with the pedal floored i'm still only registering 92-93% throttle, but this may be because it is still learning. I basically updated to 1.58 did a short drive around town then hit the highway for 2 pulls where I could find a break in traffic.

Yes but i flashed it per shivs recommendations and posted the logs above . In comparison i am now running more rich, my lt fuel trims are better as well as my st and i believe my car is pulling less timing. I am not that good at this but feel i am correct based on my readings. I am also waiting for some verification from the big man himself. Cant blame him for not jumping on this right away . Dude needs time off work sometime :-)

Hello, I have a quick question about loading the new maps onto the OFT.
I just got my OFT yesterday, do they come with the updated 1.55 maps, or would i have to put them on to the tablet.
When I got the OFT, I connected it to my PC and had it update firmware, and flashed my car afterwards with the stage 1 map. but I didn't see where to check which version of the map it currently flashed.

Thanks
