Did this do any damage?

A while back when I first got my car, my friend took it out for a drive. When he did he sat in the drive way and revved it up pretty high to about 5.5 or 6. (Cold engine btw) Then after pulling out he redlined it in first. Obvioulsy i was like dude wtf don't to that. My car had probably about 3-4k miles on it. Any damage done possible? it doesn't run funny, everything seems normal

I wouldn't worry, your car is fine.
Your friend, however, is an idiot.

"My car had probably about 3-4k miles on it."

Break-in period is over, so you're alright. Even if it was still in the break-in period, modern cars are usually somewhat broken-in already when you get them and are made much more sturdily than before.

But yeah, your friend's an idiot. No matter what car it is, if I was driving someone else's I would drive it gently unless explicitly told to go HAM.
