Gen 1 final drive ratio for socal tracks

Sorry if this is wrong section.

I wanted to see if there has been people running final drives on track in the socal area (willow, button, and chuck) what ratio has been beneficial overall?
Which ratio would also maximize forced induction.

Streets is where I frequent the most, and I find myself always out of revs.

Feel a bit stuck. I know driver mod is always the most effective

I don’t plan to get an fd anytime soon. But I want to extract n/a for as long as possible

It'll largely be dependent on your personal pace, then modifications. You're 100% correct in that driver mod is most effective.

if you're out of revs, shift up. You can always practice strategically shifting up.

So my car is n/a on e85.

The area that are tough are
T3 (second hairpin CW) if I shift down to second gear, I feel this takes quite a bit of time and as opposed to staying in third and gas all the way around.
Same goes for the entry into the esses. I could shift to second but shift mid corner I feel unbalanced the car as opposed to just staying flat all the way to the bowl.

The left into the bowl, I am going fairly fast, I tried preemptively shifting to fourth (as I am at the rev limit of 3rd) I didn’t see much benefit here.

Last is the back straight. At the crest of the chicane I’m at rev limit on 4th. But I know I can go fast. (Being as safe as possible, I don’t want to shift there) also if I shift earlier I don’t think there would be enough torque entering the chicane.

Any tips? Sorry for the jumbled thoughts

The older models have the tallest gear set. Honestly the gains are going to be slim to know vs costs. Recommend is seat time and driver mod(coaching, video session and recording vital data)

Yeah I complain a lot about the gearing in my mind XD
power overall is great and a non issue. I always felt conflicted about where I was on the power band at any given moment.

I’m getting around 1:24:44 at streets . There’s more room, but the gearing has been frustrating . So I wanted to keep this option open

You could go up to a OEM 2017 rear in.

Thinking smaller tire/wheel diameter might be a way to use taller transmission gears.
Though I don't know if there are class distinctions that may grab the curlies.

Never thought about running a smaller wheel since I was under the inpression that 17” was optimum for this chassis. But I shall look into it at least to educate myself.

17’ FD seems like a good idea.
Any insight on Oem ‘17 FD vs 4.556 (or 4.67)?
