Amusing BRZ moment #75

Driving down from Kalorama, Vic, Aus this evening an old Mercedes caught up to me and sat right in my boot. For most who don't know, Kalorama is at the top of Mt Dandenong in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. It's still fairly suburban, so the speed limit is 60 or 70km/h all the way down the mountain.

So upon reaching some nice tight hairpins, I gave it a bit of a boot, and left him a few hundred metres behind. He caught up again but stayed a bit further back. Then when we stopped at the lights at the bottom of the mountain in Montrose, he pulled up beside me. An old guy with a white beard, he was waving his arm for me to lower the window.

"Gee it sits nice and flat through the corners doesn't it!" he calls out.
"I was pushing you a bit to see if you'd give it some stick!" he says with a grin.
"Yes it's good fun" I called back and the lights turned green and we drove off.

Inverse road rage.

I had a similar experience with a lexus gs300 that tailed me for about 1/2 mile on my daily commute.

This guy pissed me off so much at first cuz he was always within about 5-10 feet from my bumper. Finally he finds an opening to pass and I'm just so full of adrenaline that I just downshift and take off. To my surprise he did not pass me, he was keeping up but the brz was keeping ahead. Finally the adrenaline wore off and I didn't want to get a ticket so I eased off the gas. At this point I put my finger up to flick him off and luckily he didn't see it behind the seats and such because when he finally passed he was just eyeing the car and giving me a thumbs up.

The guy was in a modded gs300 with exhaust and God knows what else. He was just trying to get a better look at the car.

He didn't have to be such a **** about it in the beginning though lol

Try ordering a "long black" in America and see what you get.
