Drove the old Legacy Wagon to work all last week to spend some quality time with her. I noticed that I wasn't having to restrain myself in traffic. It felt natural to casually keep pace with everyone else. I also realized that automatic transmissions are not the panacea for stop & go traffic. Without decent engine braking, there is constant footwork between accelerator and brake pedals.

Went back to the FRS today and felt immediately giddy just backing out of the driveway and even though I inadvertently picked up way too much speed halfway down the on-ramp, I caught myself and managed to share the road with my fellow commuters with renewed patience and courtesy. I did not crash.

That's how it is with my trucks. You go thru brake pads quicker with the auto. You let up and they will just coast for days.

Probably read about it on here someplace. "Crashed my car. Some idiot in a truck cut me off. Wasn't my fault"

I drove my older granddaughter to downtown Puyallup to pick up some donuts at the Happy Donut. As I was slowly driving past a row of parked cars in the small parking lot, my granddaughter yelled "look out pa-pa!". Off to my left was the backup lights of some POS SUV, about 6" from my FR-S.

The person must have heard my granddaughter yell out, because they stopped.

I swear that parking lots are the most dangerous places to drive. I feel like driving through them with my lights flashing and horn blaring. -

We did not crash.

Could have been worse. Could have been you backing out.

RIP Parking lot pillar.

Drove my FR-S today, making 6 school runs.

I did not crash. -

(of course, I didn't have to back up, except out of my driveway)

Was out driving yesterday.
" s s ssssssccccrrRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

Thought my car was doing the TOB rejection up close, loud and personal.
Realized it was a train going under the overpass doing some heavy braking.

Whew. Dodged another one. Didn't crash.
