Price of lawlessness

I got this from a nice policeman today. He told me that I didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign. I asked him what stop sign? And he pointed at this obscure 4 way stop sign in the middle of nowhere. I said "Oh that's why you were sitting there!" I saw him and wondered why this cop was sitting in this vacant lot in the middle of nowhere.
He ended up giving me a warning. Glad I didn't do the Motorcycle/Moped-Wheels off Ground/Tag Crime. I think that means doing a wheelie. An expensive wheelie.

You could fight that in court all day. If both wheels are off the ground it's levitating. One wheel off the ground appears to be within legal limits.

If you implication was that he was sitting there with the sole purpose of trapping people then by giving you a warning instead of a fine he failed miserably at his job.

Apparently you can play tag with it as well.

I like that "Seatbelt" is the lowest fine, but absolutely is necessary.

Am i reading this wrong, or as some of the fines actually less in a school zone (r is cumulative as in Fine+School?

As far as the wheelie fine, if it's on a public road it should be that per ft or meter or some such with a multiplier for speed (and I say that as a lifelong motorcycle rider). There is no reason to be doing that on a public road.

I presume that is the traffic school "fee" you can pay instead of taking the actual fine.

I did not consider that. What there are only 3 children that live in the state. The rest are over 80.

Nope. In most states you can opt to take a traffic school class to have the infraction removed from your record - subject to probation. You still have to pay the associated fine. If you get another moving violation in the probation period (usually 1 year), both violations are reported to insurance and count as points towards suspension of your license.

It is ALWAYS advisable to pay for the traffic school because insurance rate hikes are the gift that keeps on giving... and reported violations can significantly raise your rates.

P.S. There are no tests in traffic school. It is mandated time in class... but you can sign up for instruction in a language you don't know and it still will count.
