Pretty much. It'll be interesting to see how much price will drop (both car & parts). I'm wanting TRD/STI shift knob, so hopefully that'll come up sometime for a good price

I actually have the STI "JDM" shift knob in a box someplace.

I don't know if I wanna part with it even though I'm not currently using it, though haha.

The fact that all the new ones will be gone by then will help the price stay somewhat stable. Most of the people that will switch will be unloading 8 or 9 year old cars that wouldn't have a lot of value left to them anyway.
I don't predict as huge a run as you would think. There are loads that may say they will get one but when it comes to putting their money where their mouth is many will fail.

Not to mention that we have no idea if a "Performance package" will be available at release. There are some (like me, for instance) that are really looking forward to the new car - but even if I like it after driving it I will wait for the performance package...

FWIW: I expect this to be my last ICE car, so I am going to get it optioned exactly the way I want...

Which would suck if they never did do one. I can't imagine they won't but you never know.
There will also be the whole "I am waiting for the turbo version" like there was with the first gen

Managed to move 100ml of brake fluid through a new clutch slave cylinder on my 1987 Fiat X1/9 last night (2 person job and I can only ask my gf to pick up and put down the clutch pedal for so long). Still no back pressure on my clutch, but the good news is I inspected the master cylinder prior to starting my bleed with the new slave and hose, and that looks good, which is great news, because that's the much harder cylinder to replace. Going to get back at it after work, really hoping that I am able to get the clutch back soon, 80* and sunny here today.

My new 1996 Mazda truck failed inspection yesterday for the rusty leaf spring mounts so I think I'm going to put historic tags on it and not worry about using for anything other than offroading up to water and feed by pigs. I've got my van for pulling the landscape trailer the few times I use it. I don't weld, unfortunately, so I can't fix that cheaply.

The BRZ is sitting with the power steering problem too, so not been a good few weeks for me car-wise, but trying to work my way through each of them and find a good resolution without breaking the bank. Sucks to have issues with more than one vehicle at a time, that's for sure.

Anyways, some Fiat pics attached for fun (red one is mine, fluid was what was bled last night).

Yup. Plan B: If they announce end of production before releasing a performance package, then I'll take what I can get.

Be at least 4 or 5 years away so there may even be better options out there by then.

Welding is fun! And modern MIG welders are pretty easy to master...

In the future, don't be afraid to pick up a MIG and teach yourself...(or take a class at community college). Since you seem to have a collection of older cars, welding will be handy over time.

Do you have suggestions for a budget modern MIG welder I could learn on? Are MIG welders 240v?

I'm working on getting a pole barn up out on my lot where the pigs are, so I'll be able to set-up a welder there. Garage is too tight at home for any more big equipment. I can wire in 240v outlet or whatever is needed for a MIG when I build the barn.

I've got decades of soldering experience, I own a small tech manufacturing business and I started by building all of the wiring harnesses for the company that I now own. Never touched a welder though, always stood on the sidelines and watched others whenever I needed anything. I'm sure I could learn on YT and with practice...

I have the same problem. I have 4 cars, I fix them all at once and then they break all at the same time making my redundancy futile.
