SC Kits: CARB vs Standard?
Being a non-resident of California can someone please explain to me the difference between a carb kit and a non-carb kit? I'm specifically looking at the Harrop kit, I can't tell if there's any difference or not. At a glance it seems to just be in the tune.

It is just the tune. If you don’t need it, put the extra bucks toward real tuning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yea if you get it with the carb tune it will come with the ecutek license you need for tuning anyway. You can then take it to a local tuner or have it remotely tuned by any of the various options. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Normally you can buy the tuner version of a carb kit which allows you go with a 3rd party tuner and tuning platform(99% of time it will be ecutek) and save some money upfront

It is possible they are retooling the kit to work with the 1st and 2nd gen cars. It could also be a problem with mold consistency or something wore out.
I’ll be selling mine next month. I’m doing a k24 swap. I will be selling mine with the ECUTEK and optionally someone could buy my ECU, which has the CARB tune available and license, but they would probably need to have a 2013 MT car and be fine with smog because the ECU VIN would be different than the chassis VIN. Typically there are three configurations: 1. Tuner kit no ECUTEK. 2. Tuner kit with ECUTEK and license. 3. CARB kit with ECUTEK and license. Sometimes there is a fourth option: 4. CARB kit with license, but without ECUTEK, where the tuner uses their ECUTEK.
