Correct on everything except the last part

Make sure you buy "3M DOUBLE SIDED VHB TAPE" otherwise you'll need to buy those C brackets, simply put the tape all over the side of the module without the stickers.

ALSO:

There won't be an OEM module, it just slides underneath the head unit follow the tutorial in the first post as well as this video ignore the repinning and wiring electrical stuff he says he's installing a rearview camera at the same time the module is plug and play no cutting or splicing:

The module in question is used on all 2012-2015 Toyota vehicles for the most part, it was used with those head units to enable navigation and entune. That's the only difference between a car without navigation and one with navigation, it has that module, brackets and that antenna and harness



ALSO the purpose of buying the prius V head unit was specifically just to save you money, those head units are cheap as hell and are pretty common in several years of toyota vehicles, the problem is buying that module alone tends to cost a shit ton of money but the prius v head unit does not.

In the video, there is the metal mounting plate, and looks like its holding pretty well.

If you can't find it you should just buy the module from the above ebay link, that's been sitting there for a few months in fact it was up there since I did my install but I didn't buy it because I got the prius V module for cheap. If you're really interested hit up a local junkyard they may have prius head units and not much traffic from people so you should be able to get a deal for it.

Anyone wanting to do this mod should know the main module can be found in a lot of Toyota vehicles with the premium navigation or some sort of tech package WITHOUT THE JBL AUDIO PACKAGE from 2012-2014 in fact this is a list of all the used head units you can try to find that has this in there photos ask the ebay seller to take photos of all the sides of the head unit to confirm they have a harman unit with the part numbers PT296-47120, PT296-47130, PT296-47140:

I bought everything and installed but it won't work. I have a 10 series frs with head unit pt546-00140 and bought navi pt296-47139. Got the gps antenna, harness and brackets but when I hit the map button still says need to go to dealer to upgrade need help

Put a 2014 touchscreen in my car today. Found a prius radio with nav for $100, so it and the brackets, harness, GPS antenna on the way.

How are people handling the vin issue for entune nowadays?

i tired to update mine but nothing happened. i followed the same steps as the website that was posted on here to download the file. I am not sure if it could be the usb port or what. I did notice that before when i had the original radio it worked but as soon as i swapped it out to the one everyone is switching them to it stopped working. any ideas? thanks

Make sure the connector for the USB port is plugged into the module correctly

As for the VIN issue, that's the main reason I bought the prius V head unit to pull the module out of, most sellers on ebay sold them for $150 or lower and it came with the VIN number of the car it was pulled out of. So I simply plugged that vin number into the entune app.

i have pulled the usb out to check and it seems to be connected. i cant seem to reach to see if the dash itself is connected properly to the usb but from what i can see it is. i have put the usb in and nothing happens. i have followed the toyota instructions and no go.

@FRS-HHH did you plug the usb wire into the radio or the Entune module? If it's the radio it won't work ! You must plug it into the entune module.
