Anyway if it was recalled now it would have to wait until April since she went into hibernation last night.
About Subaru it seems a world recall but European Subaru hasn't a checker recall like Toyota one, by the way Toyota checker Europe doesn't not fully explain what might be involved in to the vehicle

I'm in the school of thought that the Only reason Toyobaru would ever spend the astronomical amount of money on a recall, is if it was a serious problem.

I think I've seen one person say he was driving and his engine spontaneously shut down. Luckily for him he was safe but steering was seriously difficult bc shut down the electronic steering?

Thanks!

I hope you are 100% correct on that since it indicates 0 recalls.

Well, it's like 95% labor and they are already employing the techs. Not really that high cost to them. And they might actually make some money if they can upsell folks on plugs and such at the same time lol. Just going to have some longer appointment waits. Cheap insurance against a class action lawsuit.

On JapanTimes they reported 94 issues found, so on a volume of 400k engine we are talking about 94/400,000= 0.0235%

I thought the dealerships (private business) employs the techs. Toyota and Subaru are companies that are paying for the services in recall. So the toyota/subaru have to pay the dealers to pay the techs. (not toyota/subaru employs the techs)

Any up sell of parts or services would go to the dealers, not the company. The company would only make money on the parts as they normally would have since the dealer would have to buy the parts from toyota/subaru.

That's Plenty high enough of the odds for me to take the recall work.

Edit - its 0.0235%*

If it's 94 out of 400,000 that's .0235% (.0235 of 1%) by my calculator...

So 2-3 in 10k engines.
