Every time this thread has a response of life again, my hopes rose that there is a US announcement.

Considering I had a Yaris sedan and a 3-door hatchback (at different times), I would have gotten the GR Yaris if Toyota sold it here (and wasn't priced stupidly).

Oh I'd get the GR Yaris if it were offered here, too. But I also find the Corolla to be super slick for an econo-hatch.

If the Corolla will retain the drivetrain from the Yaris, I'd consider it. I can see Toyota just keeping it a FWD for the Corolla. I can forgo the CF roof to save some production cost. As cool as it may be to have, I don't track my cars, so it's not a high priority for me.

I'm not gonna hold my breath over the AWD, but I'd still be interested in one. Especially since I'm probably gonna be moving to some sort of hatchback in the near future.

I assume it is not as simple as buying one in Mexico and driving it back across the border. I guess this comes under your 25 year rule, right?

What if you were Mexican with a GR Yaris as your only car and immigrated to the US, can you bring your car across the border?

You'd have to sell it and buy a car here.

GR Corolla, pure speculation but looks cool if this is the direction they’re going with.

I'd take the Yaris GR in a heartbeat. I'll also take this, if this is what's available.

On another note, I wouldn't be opposed to FWD since I don't track or drive em' to their potential anyways. Just something decent for my daily commute would be awesome with my Supra! Hell, at least Toyota's trying!
