Yes zero research and development allows them to sell greddys kits for much cheaper. That's all there is to it. It's a great kit if you can deal with it being a stolen product/design.

I could care less if they didn't design it as long as it will be reliable

For example the Original heat shield design kind of sucked. So chris found a reasonably priced blanket that worked well with the kit, Some of us had to pay for it, but it is now included with the kit. The blow off valve is a nice touch considering greddys kit does not come with a blow off valve and there is plenty of people that don't like that(I would rather not have one). Also they supply pretapped oil pans for a very fair price. So you have your factory one incase you need to revert your car back to stock. Also with him pairing up with Shiv from OFT helped out a lot, Shiv made aftermarket intake pipe for the kit, which is a very nice touch, mine doesn't fit to great because I am using the factory crash beam but I prefer his intake design rather then the intake that comes with the kit. If you have the money, buy this kit. An upgraded clutch, Pretapped pan, OFT, and a few other small things and have your self a great fun reliable car.

I know it's easy for some to care less for these larger successful company's profit margins, but I'm betting they struggle more than most of us realize to innovate, and our community would be worse off without them. I'm not saying I've never bought a knock-off product, but if/when I did, I was not actively aware of it being a copy.
Over the years I've grown to realize that supporting knock-off companies discourages innovative companies from creating new products for us. Eventually some legit companies DO go out of business as a result, and we all suffer...even the copy cats.
