I'd need to remove the knee airbag from the EU version, do you know what is the correct value of the resistance? Can I measure it with a multimeter?
And, more important, what if the ECU should send the ignition current because of an accident? The wires are almost in short circuit....

Be very carful putting a multimeter across the terminals. Some have an inrush current.

Put a fuse inline with the resistor.

You are in an accident that will deploy the air bag and are worried about burning out a resistor?

Thanks, not worried for burning out the resistor, but the whole airbag cable...

Has anyone tried the Recaro universal resistor instead of the Bride or just putting a resistor into the connector? It looks much cleaner if it works.

I see you on other threads chasing this down. I'm tired of my cluster lighting up like a Christmas tree once I start driving.

Very curious to see what you find.

Yeah, I still have no idea where the 2.2 or 3.3 Ohm value came from. I measured the driver's side plug resistance to be like 0.4 Ohms.

Does anyone know if you could buy a spare plug to wire a permanent resistor to, so that all I'd have to do was switch plugs so to speak?

Something like this maybe?

Did you buy that recaro universal resistor? Any luck?

No. I reached out to recaro and the connector isn't the same. I bought the NRG resistor and it worked fine.

The SRS light can be turned off on the dash via CAN... I don't know what would happen if the SRS module was still in the car when this was done though

The CAN ID is 372, for anyone looking to sniff quick.

EPAS light can also be turned off via CAN.

having two can ID can interfere and multiple devices can throw a error. if you have the airbag module disconnected then it should work. but doesn't fix if you want the rest of the SRS system to keep working properly. wont also fix the issue of the passenger occupancy sensor either though.

If you look carefully inside, you'll notice theres a shorting bar. When the connector is unplugged that bar shorts the two pins as a precaution from people trying to explode airbags. 3.3 Ohms is also wrong, as someone who did do that had bad probes. However, that being said, any 1/4w resistor between 1.8 and 3.3ohm will do the trick.

Yes, but, you can always MITM attack the cluster.

Every vehicles SRS logic will still attempt to fire the airbags, even if they are disconnected. If the Occupancy sensor fails, it resorts to looking at the passenger side buckle. If Buckled, explode.

Address and data for turning SRS light off (gerald is right, don't just flood the message, either MITM it, or disable SRS module all together.)

0x372 {0x00, 0xYY, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00};

Where YY is a counter, 00 - F0. Rolls over, starts at 00.
