P0420 Permanent

So I have a 2019 86 with a completely catless exhaust, (aftermarket header, over pipe, front pipe, center pipe, and muffler delete). I dont have a tune yet but I ordered the OFTv2 and plan to throw the stage2+ (catless header tune). I think this tune accounts for the p0420 CEL/DTCs right?

Should be. However, I'd chill on driving your car until you get that OFT in.

Makes a pretty significant difference running that header then you might think. I've seen and heard some nightmare stories of people running headers without a tune and regretting it lol

Nice, yea ive got the OFT here now, I work from home and since I've gotten it I drive it once or twice a week at lunch around the block.

Do I need to clear all the non-permanent (if any) DTCs prior to throwing the tune in?

CONFIRMED. Just flashed the stage2+ (catless header) and its night and day. I gave it about 20 "easy/normal" miles then opened it up a few times.. unreal and 0 DTCs

Ill be going e85 after this tank of gas, I cant wait!

Glad it worked out for you!

Another tip, I'd give allow your car to get a few relaxed driving drive cycles in before really giving it hell. Won't hurt anything if you do but when you're on the aggressive throttle it kicks the ECU out of learning mode which can be pretty frustrating if you have a dead pedal

When I flashed it, before driving I let it idle for about 30 min. Ever since going stage2+ I've been driving it for about an hour each day around town, some city/highway stuff and getting on it once or twice (cops are out like crazy right now for some reason) I never saw any decrease in throttle response and still haven't. Another nice thing I've noticed are cold starts are way less 'violent' than before. Its still loud it just smoothes out a lot faster and seems to generally run better in the first 1-5 minutes..
