Looking for areas in San Jose to take pictures

Basically what the thread title is, I have a friend coming over that wants to practice his camera skills with my car. Does anyone know good areas we can access relatively close to SJ for pictures?

Anything really! Though i guess abandoned locations would be cool if there are any.

Might be a far drive but you can try the Alameda Naval Base. Nice abandoned buildings and the USS Hornet but just be aware of the security. They'll tell you that you cant take pics. Been there done that and I've returned many times. I'm in Alameda so if your friend wants to shoot another 86 just for fun, I'll be around haha

Are they not aware that you can take pictures of anything you want in public?

East, South or West? Head into the hills, Castle Rock, Santa Cruz, Uvas, Mt. Diablo, drive to Watsonville and catch a dirt track race after your afternoon shots and before your late night shots. Options are endless.

Yeah he mentioned the Naval base as a place we may go to. For now though he'll be sticking with just my car as practice, maybe in the future when he's more comfortable!

So we ended up hitting a parking garage at SJSU, i believe its the 4th st garage. We'll try other places when he comes back but it was raining/threatening to rain the entire time.

Next time he'll have upgraded his camera and i'll hopefully have washed the car.

Test shot:

Definitely second Alviso area ... some cool areas to take pics around there.

A few years back @MyRx and I went there with @NorCalGirl to do a shoot for her car...

there's also a business park near there with a nice view.

and as @thecarfilmer mentioned, USS Hornet in Alameda is nice... it's where we did photos of @SLEEPER WRX 's BRZ.
