I recieved one in 2003 at the intersection of FLR and Scottsdale, I was not speeding and the light was green. I know I was not speeding because the light had just turned green and I was barley in 2nd gear (they said I was speeding).

I did not pay it and nothing ever came of it. I checked my driving recored a few years back and there was nothing on it about this incident. Although nothing happened to me this was over ten years ago and am not sure how it is handled today.

Good luck with it, these things are a scam.

Unless it came certified mail don't worry about it. They can't prove you ever received the ticket.

And the line about checking the website (which is just inputting the notice # and PIN from the letter) being a valid form of being served doesn't make sense. You aren't asked to identify yourself, and it was myself checking the pictures/video, not my wife. I'll just tell my wife to not answer the door for anyone the next 4 months. Thanks for the replies, I was hoping to hear from someone who recently received one of these notices.

After the 3" exhaust went on did a couple pulls and the clutch started slipping pretty good from the extra power, so ordering a clutch kit this week and will get dyno'd after its all put in.

Yes, it does. It's a unique URL, tied to the letter sent to you; activation of said link implies that the letter was received and opened, which constitutes a successful serving.

Heed the advice given and do not go to that URL.

The advice was sadly after the fact.
Serving to the wrong person though, since my name was on the letter and I was the person checking the link. It probably now commits me to identify the actual driver if a fine is going to be applied. As of now, time to wait. The notice didn't specify any fee.... yet.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info.

I got one in Mesa, Live in Gilbert. I got the first notice... threw it away. Got the 2nd notice... Tossed it. Person came to the door... didn't answer. Officer of the court came to my work -- I was successfully served.

According to the officer, they "can track you've received the previous letters". My rebuttle was "Did you send it certified mail? Did I sign for the letter?" -- Now, all this said, I did not log on to the website. I didn't need to see it because I knew I'd done it. I also did not have any penalty for "paying late" or anything like that because they couldn't prove they'd even successfully notified me until they served me in person.

To my understanding you don't have to pay red light camera tickets in order for a speeding or any other type of ticket to be valid a cop or official server has to serve you a ticket. Red light tickets (although you may be obviously speeding) are just an intimidation that people get in the mail and just pay thinking something bad will happen. Also don't go on the website the ticket tells you too thats also a valid form of being "served".
Unless it's from the City of Scottsdale, which largely ignores a lot of the laws concerning hand serving and gets away with it (in that, they will still submit your license for suspension and succeed, they figure laws don't apply to them and they seem to be right).

In every other municipality in the metro the usual rules stay true. Wait to be hand served before you start worrying about it.
