I just made two 2.5 hour drives today in my FR-S. A mix of back roads and interstates. No complaints at all. The car eats up the miles just fine, and is as comfortable as any car I've ever owned.

I have this armrest as well (came with my car that was bought used). A great little addition - I agree that the lack of an armrest would be annoying. The funny thing is that I store my sunglasses case the same way!

Well... Not many other places to put them, I guess?

I have found that with a properly adjusted seat the biggest enemy becomes myself. I hardly listen to the radio which is nice when I finally do everything seems new... and then it all repeats... and then I start losing my mind... I am damn comfortable though while I am singing to myself on those long trips.

I've got 16GB of MP3's on a tiny thumb drive plugged in the USB port, on random playback.
That keeps me awake for those long drives

You can barely even tell it's in there.

I'm not a huge fan of the car for long distance driving. Combination of the stiff suspension, lack of lumbar adjust and loud NVH/exhaust (some of which is my fault, e.g. tires and exhaust).

I can grit through 4-5 hrs straight with the car, but it's nowhere near comfortable (at least for me). I'm much more comfortable driving long-distance in minivans/SUVs, or even my wife's GTI.

Indeed. It's also a good thing we have those cupholders in the doors too, since you lose use of the central ones.

Guess I don't understand the issue. No problem driving it 10-12 hours at a pop. My wife loves riding in it. She leans back like Mrs. @humfrz and just lets me know when we need to make a pit stop.

Same here! Of course that's probably because it was the cheapest one on Amazon.

Mrs. Sarlacc slept through my driving the Autobahn from Austria straight through Germany to Denmark in a stream of exceptionally low traffic density.
Cruising at 200 km/h on the speedo, bursts up to 240 km/h, for hours. Coolant and oil temps slightly higher than normal, but steady.
A few comments now and then from the fully reclined passenger seat, like "Change the song, please... You know I can't sleep to Metallica", "Do we have any water left" and "Are we there yet" but no further complaints.

- Personally, I'd freak out in that seat that day.
