After the purchased, I began searching for information in regards to mods for the car. I came across this forum and have been hooked. I'm constantly browsing for new information or trying to help others with my own. It is great that we have such an awesome community and I will do my part to make it greater. With or without votes, I'm in for the ride.

Thank you and happy voting.

Additional statement:
Let me start by stating that for those that have supported me, thank you. I also wanted to state again that with or without votes, I plan to be a BIG part of the Nor_Cal community.

A little about me:
I’m located in Manteca, CA, I’ve celebrated my 21st birthday, 10 times and when time permits (wife’s approval) I attend meets. I have two beautiful daughters (13 & 9) and when I’m not purchasing car parts, I’m buying guns! < Anyone with daughters gets it. I’m a retired out law enforcement officer and am currently working the private sector of public safety. I like to travel with the family and enjoy playing some modern warfare from time to time.

Plans:
I’ve only been part of the community since Nov. of last year, but find myself drawn to the club. I start to count the days of the next Dublin meet right after we are done with the current one. My plans for the club are of course to support our president’s “Finchtatorship” and to help grow the community keeping in mind its best interests. I want to get to know everyone and find out what they feel we can do to improve the community. I also would like to establish larger meets with the help of the board so that groups from all areas can get together and share our interests.

Thank you again for the opportunity and your consideration going forward.

- Sugi

Hopefully many of you have met me at a local meet, or been to our website (www.86drive.com), or joined us on one of our drives. — if you’re short on time you can stop reading here the rest is just political blather. Sorry I have a degree in Political Science so it just comes naturally…

As a Board member and advisor to the President, I have advanced several key ideals that I believe are critical to the success and longevity of our community.

Outreach and Inclusiveness. NorCal86 belongs to and serves all owners, drivers and enthusiasts who enjoy the 86/BRZ/FR-S platform. An important part of what we do is help spread the word about our community, recruit other new members, and make them (and their families) feel welcome to join our community. We use social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and FT86CLUB’s forums to do this and attract new owners into the fold, as well as keep members updated as to what events and activities we have going on. We hold casual meets, sometimes several times a week, throughout the NorCal region and encourage new members to come out and see for themselves what a wonderful group we are and the many benefits of being part of such a group. I hope that if you are reading this and still haven’t come out to hang with us informally at one of the weekly or monthly meets, that you do try to make it out some time. I have heard or read many comments about those who have come out, who are glad they did and found it a very inviting and friendly group, so I hope that tradition remains in our community for a long time to come.

Integrity and Accountability of Leadership. Through the conscious efforts of the President and Board, we have made the leadership accountable to the community. This election is one example of that. We pledge to conduct our dealings, both in within and beyond our community, with honesty, integrity and always with the best interests of the community at heart. The leadership should also uphold the positive image that our community needs and deserves. I believe that if the leadership does not meet those standards, the community has the right and the duty to call them into question.

Fun and Family Values. Let’s not forget that this is a club, not a job or a business. We don’t have to be here, we choose to be here. Don’t lose sight of why we are here. For many of us it is a relaxing activity away from the stresses of daily life and a way to make new friends, spend time with established friends, and help one another as best as we can. And enjoy something we all share in common, a love for cars, driving, and the automotive culture. I’ve seen so much generosity, selflessness, and enthusiasm in this community. So bring your positive energy and help everyone have fun together.

My thanks to our President @finch1750 and to everyone on the Board for the 2014 term for a great year together. And know that whether I am reelected to the Board or not, rest assured that I will remain vocal about my own opinion that these ideals are things that the leadership and our community should maintain as a priority.

Thank you to everyone for your support!

Pish has my vote and my most high recommendation of a leader to the Norcal 86 community. His tenacious positive attitude and commitment to hosting and maintaining SF Peninsula meets was inspirational and motivated many other 86s owners to come and join in on the fun which resulted in building a most welcoming community in a particular area of the Bay Area that normally does not have regular meets.

He has also hosted regular go-karting events up every month which in turn resulted many drivers have more seat time and training on their driving skills. This has proven valuable in the 86 cup when one of the regulars at the meets received a trophy at the end of the season.

Pish is very welcoming of all who visit the 86 meets he participates no matter what car they own or not and has already proven to add value to Norcal86.

Pish is a dedicated 86 member who is deeply committed to the success of the Norcal86 community in the SF Peninsula. He is ready now to assume position of increased responsibility and influence.

Seems like I was pulled back into the race. That's fine but I didn't vote for myself haha

I'm just gonna copy/paste Plato's statement [here].

And add, it's been my pleasure to be part of this community. What we have going here is a method of joining and becoming part of eachothers' lives. Sure, the car gets in the way but past the car talks, comes the intimate personal stuff. It's astonishing to observe at the meets that friendship has grown past "my car" to "when we going". How such a car can change your daily outlook especially on Tues-Thurs, even on the weekends. Never would have imagined this community we made for ourselves would turn out as great as it's been.

I should introduce myself. Hi! Jessie here. I chose "MyRx" for the fact that this car is my prescription for my daily everything not FR-S related. It's the motorsport I enjoyed before my wife and kids. Hiatus, I believe it's called. I've enjoyed the ride before with a couple of Nissans and a motorcycle. But this twisty-loving "86" is a game changer - I'm still learning it believe it or not. East Bay resident pretty much my adult life so I take anything I can on Redwood Rd to Skyline. I've circled the bay enough times, the only place this car can't hang, are on the passing lanes on PCH against American/Euro power. If I'm not tinkering with the car, I'm enjoying my daily everything else

Look for an exciting 2015 season with or without me on board! There's a handful of candidates listed that'll do great job! Good luck to everyone.

Norcal86 Board Member Elections

Plato really conveyed it best.

I've met a number of you at Dublin meets and was the guy who brought ladderball to the barbecue this past year.

While I live in Merced, I have made an effort to stay involved as much as possible.

I have been involved with the club from before our first run to Alice's Restaurant, and have enjoyed the camaraderie of the group.

I'm running for the board with hopes that some of the southern Central Valley peeps will have a little more representation on the board.

I now have two FRSs. One red JRSC kitted car "Fiona" and another release series "Deunan". Fiona is my track ready/street legal car, while Deunan is out DD and cruiser. If it's not obvious, I'm truly a big fan of the cars and the community we have developed around our favorite rides.

Regardless of whether I get the votes needed, I plan on being even more active than before.

Please consider voting for me and spreading a little love to our Central Valley peeps.
