Finally got the car back; homelink mirror resolved. Seatbelt parts had to be ordered from japan apparently.

Subaru gave me a $250 voucher for the situation, so thats cool I guess. More accessories; or save for the (hopeful) subwoofer.

Just FYI, The bulletin for the HomeLink is Bulletin # 15-290-22, if anyone needs theirs fixed out there.

So you’re right recirc goes off if you spin the nob above what the car thinks is the outside temp.

Still super annoying bc I’m not asking it to turn on when the car starts. Every time. I’ve never seen a car do this before.

This is so weird, my car doesn't do this. Recirc stays off no matter what.

Do you guys have AC enabled? AC Automatically enabled recirc, maybe it's doing that on startup.

EVERY SINGLE SHIFT
I recently watched an AmmoNYC video where someone reached in the window and turned the key to start an 87 Grand National. I know that feature went away in the 90's but why? People leaving kids in the car unattended?

Same reason manuals are not allowed to have remote start. There’s always some idiot that starts it in gear with the clutch pedal disengaged and plows right into whatever is in front of them.

Yes, I've used this "feature" to get my dead manual car off the road.

This "feature" is still a thing in Europe and Japan.

We, Americans, are just too stupid to not have this safety in place, unfortunately.

It's the same on Miata's as well. American cars need clutch in to start, rest of the world doesn't.

That is interesting to hear, I thought it was just the worldwide standard these days.

Today:

CarPlay intermittent disconnecting as others have noted. This time, though, all entertainment audio went out. FM radio, Bluetooth, and Sirius/XM all were silent. Turning the head unit off & on while driving didn’t fix it. I had to turn the car completely off & back on after parking.
