Wheel Directory: OZ Alleggerita HLT 17x7.5 +48

Tirerack has wheel fitment for the BRZ now.

Alleggerita HLT Gold 17x7.5 15.4lbs on sale for $279, got my set! Lugs, caps included. Will have my installer guy move tpms over with a little luck. $1162 shipped.

Waiting on my WRB limited... Been a Subaru fan for a long long time.

Size: 17x7.5
Offset: +48mm
Backspacing: 6.14"
Bolt Pattern: 5-100
Rec. Tire Size: 215/45-17
Weight: 15.4lbs.
Finish: Gold Painted
Construction: 1 Pc. Low Pressure Cast/ Shot Peened
Finish Warranty: 2 years
Manufactured in Italy

Is it an accurate guess that 1lbs rotating mass saved is like 10lbs overall weight reduction for effective acceleration and stopping? As in these wheels will save me 18lbs=180lbs effective weight drop regarding vehicle dynamics?

(Per: http://www.xcceleration.com/wheel.chart.htm )

The person writing that article has made a guestimate in stating that. As the article has already stated "The further from the center, the higher the MoI." It is incorrect to make this blanket statement: "Given that each pound of rotational mass lost provides an equivalent performance gain as a 10 pound reduction in vehicle weight". One would have to calculate the angular momentum on a particular rim/tire combination before making such a statement.

Thanks for the heads up on the closeout. I pulled the trigger too. Our cars will be twins...just on separate coasts.

anyone think the white will look dumb on the whiteout , (because it is a pearl?) and the two whites not matching up closely?
Seriouisly considering blue or anthracite too on whiteout.

I think it'll be fine. Wheels aren't part of the car in most people's eyes. The only problem I can see is that in some light, if your wheels are clean, it may make your car look a bit dirty.

If it were a BRZ, I'd say go with black or anthracite. But since the FR-S interior has red accents, red rims might be kinda cool. If you go with a color, try to have the same color elsewhere on the car.

I hope someone gets these on their car soon. I'm not convinced I'd like them so I want to see them on a car before I totally write them off.

I'm toying with the idea of those 17x7 Kosei K4R for stock class racing. Will need spacers though.

The red seems interesting to me now that you mentioned red accents.

Why not try Velox PG-5s? I found out you can order direct from them. 12.5 pounds, fully forged in the stock size. Seems ideal for stock class. I decided to do wider and golder OZs instead but I was pretty close to buying the velox myself.

That would really bother me man. I had white ssrs on my aspen white sti and they matched up well. We put those wheels on a pearl white legacy and it looked like the car was dirty. I think white is one of those colors where any color goes well with it, other than offshades of itself.

Wow, I just looked at the Velox's, they look really nice, with the chrome lip, and 12.5 LBS!!!! I think I'm sold. Thanks for mentioning this btw.

Well, my wheels came in and I had them installed a few days ago. I plan to run the stock tires into the ground then run a square 225/45/17 setup all the way around. I like the blue and gold, feels very subaru-y. I admit the wheels would probably look nicer with 18s and a 35ish offset but looks are secondary to me. Going to 18s would probably negate any weight savings. I can certainly tell the difference dropping 5lbs per wheel. It's not dramatic but everything seems to happen with just a little more quickness. It's nice.

Somebody was going to say this sooner or later so: "needs drop".

In all seriousness though they do look great. Especially in that color combination.

Seeing the Allegerittas on the car tempts me to want to declare these wheels, in combination with some RCE springs, the ideal "default" upgrade for this car.
