Color is crazy IRL. The metallic flake is bonkers. definitely purple / dark blue in shade. Bright blue with glittery metallic at day.

Should age well, all that metallic flake is great for hiding swirl marks too.

Is it going to be hard to color match it in the future?

Had an Aegean Blue Civic on preorder for my son (19) and on a whim, after he mentioned that he thought Mustangs were really cool cars, I did a search for the GR86 and found this Trueno Blue Base AT a few hundred miles away. It was on the lot and available. Whipped out the CC, drop a grand and left at 5am the next day to pick up my son from university and head to the dealer. TA-DA!

I don't think so, but only time will tell. My 13' FRS was Ultramarine Blue (E8H) which is effectively give or take the same color and paint matching that car was never an issue for me with the few things I did need matched.

However, Pearl paint is extremely hard to paint match and replicate. I know the pearl white on the FRS' was a pain in the ass.

Tell your son I said congratulations!

When I was 18, I purchased my 2013' FRS that's actually still my header photo on here as my first car. I'm 23 now with my GR86.

The FR format in these cars is a very good way to learn how to really drive. In comparison to a Mustang, he will 110% have a much better understanding for the road and not have an overbearing amount of power to hurt himself with either. Great choice.

I do agree, I do professional detailing however so none of that for me. Besides the dealer wash they unfortunately during the PDI before I arrived at my dealership.

My GR is getting Full Front PPF, Polish and 3yr coating tomorrow.

Looks great! What was used on the black trim pieces? (ie: bumper grill, rear bumper "diffuser" area, etc).

I usually use Chemical Guys Black on Black spray, curious what others use.

I didn't bother coating or treating the diffuser and trim. Car is garage kept. Maybe down the line i'll do it. Just from experience though with my last 86 being garage kept I never really had faded trim issues.
