I wouldn't mind if they did a nardo grey type color on it. A bit overplayed too but the Type R with that kind of color looks decent and I think it would fit the lines.

Would've been cool if they resurrected an older color like from the WRX Celica livery or maybe something metallic blue from the old A80 Supras. I really like what they did with Trueno Blue on the GR86's, but I guess they don't want colors to be shared much across models.
If you've seen a red E210 before, then that's the same red. It's a nice color, but you already know why I shouldn't go with it. LOL

i admit, i was a little curious. but the lack of color starts breaking things down, and the ipad-on-the-dash breaks my rule #1(must be able to drive the vehicle for an entire week without the oem radio installed).
Those colors are basically the Toyota corporate colour scheme.

The color choice might indicate on how long Toyota plans on making the GR Corolla. I think that if the sales are right, more colors will start showing up, or special editions per se. After all, it is a car that will only be targeted to one type of audience (MT Fans), so having multiple colors means having plans on releasing a significant number of vehicles. I might just be grasping at straws here.

I would prefer a Silver thrown in the mix simply because I think in terms of vehicle care. Red draws a lot of attention, but it might be fine because it is a Corolla after all so it could be very inconspicuous. Red draws dirt, and you can tell when its dirty. Black is a complete NOGO, the beautiful shine would last maybe a day and after that is down the drain.

White is fine as long is a sort of pearl finish. But is the best car to maintain as far as paint care goes. Hides scratches, swirls, and dirt the best.

Silver is a great compromise, but that is just me.

I can already picture myself swapping the wheels with Bronze ones and black accents on lip components. I was showing it to the boss lady and she approves, even encouraged me to get it, which rarely happens lol.

I have less trouble getting out of the 86 than MomHawk's Mustang or our Suburban.

I mean with the 86 you fall in and sort of roll out. Couldn't be easier.

Being that it is already sort of a "Special Edition" I don't think you will see a broad range of colours. Probably about the same pallet as the 86 if even that many choices.

Yep. My 82 year old mother loved getting in and out of the FRS. Always said it was the easiest car ever for exactly the reasons you stated.

I will be in the market for the engine as soon as the cars start getting wrecked. Should replace the 2ZZ in my 2000 MR2 Spyder nicely. I am sure it will be a race to see who can do it first.

You laughed, but it came in at 3249!

Green...once again, really only look good on coupes. A shade of darker purple would look good on the GR Corolla though.

I'll end up going with a heavy metal circuit grade.
I'd kill for a nice dark green or purple. As things are now, I'll go for the heavy metal.

I'm a little (OK a lot) disappointed that the 3rd leg isn't an MR2 revival, but it looks like Toyota did this one right.

Limited color option is due to its a “tester” production. Those series, they like yo keep em in the black, white & red. Circuit Edi got extra color which was pushed by TNA.

If GRC sales are more than expected, more color options will see in later years.

As for a MR2… if Morizou or head of GR (forgot his name) didn’t ax it, there might be something that interest you coming in few yrs… BUT I wouldn’t told your breath on it.

Personally, I'd still trade this for the GR Yaris, but I know I'm in the minority Stateside. That being said, I'll definitely cross-shop the 2024 GR86 and GR Corolla next year; I'm guessing '24 MY will have more colors (and probably an auto trans for the "regulars"). This will be faster than the 86, but as usual, it's not all about that speed for me.

There was that EV MR2 looking sports car that was part of that gigantic Toyota EV plan reveal awhile back, so they are at least looking into reviving it likely during the EV phase of things.

Yea, but can an EV really be a mid-engine rear sports car?
