How do you stop your car? (Manual Transmission)

So, what are your guys method of stopping your car?

1.) Downshift one gear at a time from current gear to first gear then to neutral with brake application.
2.) Shift to Neutral and use the brakes to come to a complete stop
3.) Stay in the same gear and apply brakes until the car hits nearly 10 mph, then shift to neutral b4 coming to a complete stop to avoid stalling.
4.) None of the above (post your method).

I rev-match/downshift and brake if I see I'm going to be going again before stopping. Otherwise, I save the fuel and just clutch and brake.

When I want to stop I usually just go to neutral and brake. I feel like in the long run its easier and cheaper to replace brakes than to wear out your transmission faster and yes also the gas...

you don't save fuel when you clutch in, cuz now you're in neutral.

if you're coming to a complete stop, you brake in whatever gear you're in until the rpms drop below 1500, then you clutch in.

Any and all of the options above. If I am coming up on a light or a turn and there is no traffic, I downshift through the gears. If there are cars at the light, I will go to neutral and coast. It all depends on whether or not there is opportunity to get back up to speed quickly.

Usually I'll down shift a gear at a time till I'm in second gear and after I'm stopped I'll put it in first gear. Whether or not I rev match depends on the type of driving I'm doing at the time. If I'm pushing the edge a little I'll rev match. If I'm just out smelling the roses I probably won't.

For DD I use the brakes while shifting to neutral.

While on track I use brakes + engine braking sometimes but ideally I use brakes + rev match.

I just use the brake and put the car in neutral if I know there is gonna be a complete stop. If not, then I brake and then put it into 2nd gear then gas it if I need to accelerate. Simple as f**k for DD.

Rev Match while braking and once i get to second gear i shift to neural and coast at a slower speed. I only do this to practice heel & toeing as much as i can.

Same as @pcasso87 -- heel and toe down to 2nd gear.

Usually a combination of downshifting and braking with clutch in.

I stay in gear until a low speed and shift to neutral when I come to a full stop. I stay in gear for safety reasons, because the added engine braking will help you in the case of an emergency.

Otherwise, if I have to just slow down to get around a corner, I rev match and heel toe as necessary down to the gear that'll pull me through the turn.
