This looks like a great deal and a great kit. I am so tempted.

Hi shayangh,

Our first development kit has been street driven relatively often for about a year and a half (around 30k miles) with no reported issues.

Our second development kit installed on our own BRZ recently had 3 drivers do back-to-back track days at Laguna Seca where we were data logging every run with two laptops and every time we came back to the pits, we used our IR temp gun to record all the turbo parts and surrounding components. We even had temperature indication paint on the all parts of the turbo kit and the surrounding areas.

We have internally and externally thermal coated the up and down pipes and properly shielded all of the wiring.

We are also keeping the air-fuel ratios on the rich side to keep exhaust gas temperatures down.

That being said, if you will be driving your car on the track, at the autocross, etc., we certainly recommend an oil cooler kit like ours (soon to be released) to reduce the peak temperatures prevalent in the FA20.

Hope this helps.

FWIW - Consider in about another 2 years, the used/pre-owned FRS/BRS market will wake up and warrantees will be expiring as will the emissions exemptions. So people WILL be wanting engine upgrades, but ones that pass SMOG (at least in CA anyway).

Plus whatever sales you get now, those guys may come back asking you all for SMOG EOs as they fail visual inspections - because maybe they'll want to keep their cars OR have to pull the turbos off because they can't SMOG it.

So, would be super awesome if you guys got the CARB EO.
CA is still THE largest car market in the US and an emissions friendly turbo system is a great differentiator.

Plus, every time I even reconsider the efficiency/power of a Supercharger, I cry to myself because even the most basic turbo system will put out more power efficiently... but for now Jackson and Innovative are the only CARB EO approved FI systems.

So that's all the choices. :|

Vortech and kraftwerks are carb as well. And innovate isnt technically at the moment as they are no longer a supplier and Sprintex USA is still working out carb details

Finch - thanks for the additional info. I've mostly been surfing retail sites and links. I am surprised I missed the Vortech and Kraftwerks options.

Thanks Jeff... I just hate how much those SC weigh though. And like $1000-$1500 for the software tune. Yikes!

How is oil return handled? Scavenge pump or drain to tapped oil pan?
