At the of the day, we can talk and make jokes, but the outcome of OP's claim will be based the level of culpability of negligence demonstrated parties below. Is this event defined as negligence or gross negligence.
Negligence (Lat. negligentia, from neglegere, to neglect, literally "not to pick up something") is a failure to exercise the care that a reasonably prudent person would exercise in like circumstances.[1] The area of tort law known as negligence involves harm caused by carelessness, not intentional harm. Gross negligence is a legal concept which means serious carelessness. Negligence is the opposite of diligence, or being careful. The standard of ordinary negligence is what conduct one expects from the proverbial "reasonable person". By analogy, if somebody has been grossly negligent, that means they have fallen so far below the ordinary standard of care that one can expect, to warrant the label of being "gross". Prosser and Keeton describe gross negligence as being "the want of even slight or scant care", and note it as having been described as a lack of care that even a careless person would use. They further note that while some jurisdictions equate gross negligence with recklessness in terms of culpability, most simply differentiate it from simple negligence in terms of degree |

Alas, this legendary thread is now closed and will forever remain in our memories.
I had good laughs...so much good laughs. I wish OP well, and should continue his battle against the suffering brought on by FIRE. I wish the responsible parties a quick and favorable action towards this travesty.
