Haven't used it in the car yet, but the build of the mount is very good. Definitely the right choice for a headrest mount.
GoPro is a GoPro. I've played with it a bit, user and data interfaces take some experimentation to figure out but you can read about everything online online. There is a real user guide on the GoPro website, doesn't come with a paper copy. Make sure you get an SD card. Phone app seems a bit buggy when connecting, but I turn unnecessary permissions functions off on my phone. Video quality seems great to me, haven't tried it in car yet.

Get your helmet, car, and the rest of your poop in a group for the first couple events. Focus on safety and lay of the land. Don't allow yourself to be distracted by dumb stuff until after you are no longer a newb.

I know, I know. I just get carried away. I think it’s the excitement build up. I like to be as prepared as possible and the fancy stuff is mostly to grade myself and see where I can improve. Not that the instructors won’t tell me but doesn’t hurt to keep a record of it. No more stupid purchases, I promise lol. |

Probably a great idea I think the anticipation for people who don't get sorted out first is when we see foolish spin-outs. I'm on the fence. I want to go, but I've got a competing event with the wife in close proximity so I probably will concede and we'll do her thing

The BRZ has officially attended its first Motorsports event. Along myself.
For all intents and purposes, it went great. I was classed on a Novice group and the only way out of it its winning the class. Which is a good system. The course wasn't particularly hard, just very tight and the set of chicanes so close together was making people go "Off Track". Riding along another owner made me realize how capable our cars are and how much of a powerhouse the platform is at these events. I threw myself into it by going full TC OFF, I wanted to see where the limit was and boy did I find it on my last lap, last turn (Spun Out). Even though I was pretty bummed out about coming in 2nd on my class, the loss and the trophy labeled "Almost First Place", which only dug the knife further, is only fuel to be better the next time. I'm counting the days until the next one. I did get multiple owners recommend a better set of tires and camber adjustments. I'll be posting the video soon. |

Second place at your first event? Bummed? Come on. Sounds like you had a great day.
