Excellent thread documenting an excellent build! Congrats on your mindset, your work so far and thanks for the info provided so far.

I am set to join the 86 bandwagon and coming from a Miata that has 170-180 lbs off its stock weight, I plan to follow the same path with the 86. Lots of useful info on this thread!

I have already made a spreadsheet with initial calculations thanks to your hard work.

I have read ALL the pages and all posts carefully. I didn't see any mention of the sway or stabilizer bars.
You can save a lot of weight in steel and at the same time transform your suspension to a true independent one. You being a fan of Lotus mentality, some Elises do not have rear sway. With your weight reduction you can easily go WITHOUT sway bars and possibly with a proper suspension setup, you may even be able to eliminate the rear aero wing.

That's all for now, sub'ed and looking forward for more from this thread.

Congrats Anthony for going where no 86 owner has gone before...

I sold my Exige for the lack of rear sway bar.
They don't have one because of the shit weight distribution.

But yes, for pure weight saving, sways must be heavy.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate your appreciation of my labor. You may have missed the sway bar weights because they're at the very beginning under weight increases.

Yeah, that's everyone's least favorite section, for sure. It's like a salad bar at
an Insane Clown Posse concert. Everyone avoids.

How about the battery?
I know you replaced with a lighter one but how low can you go?
How about a 18 ounces battery?
