So are both the JDM and 17+ identical in length - I.e. if the 17+ tips were removed, can they be reinstalled pushed outward a bit more...or does their actual length not allow that?
I looked underneath my car and the tips are about half the length of the JDM tips. So even if there was some adjustability it won't make much of a difference.

I'll be looking to order the JDM tips as well.

So I think the 2017+ muffler has shorter tail pipes. So even with the JDM tips on, they do not poke out from the bumper like all the pics in this thread. Once installed they are longer than the stock tips by maybe under 1 inch, but the ends are still recessed in the diffuser. The problem is the bump stops of the JDM tip are similar to the USDM tips with respect to the end of the tips.
I don't have the JDM tips on me anymore and was stupid to not take a photo when I did a test fitting.
In the end, this is not worth pursuing on 2017+ cars. Here's a photo of stock tip vs JDM tip:

Would anyone with the JDM tips be able to measure the distance between the bump stop inside the tip to the outer edge of the tip?

Does anyone have pictures with the JDM (44370CA000) on a 2017+ BRZ?
Meanwhile, is the Toyota tip
SU003-01126 the same as the JDM in terms of the shape and dimensions?

I stupidly did not take photos when I did a test fitting on my car. But I can tell you that the JDM tips do not stick out from the bumper on 2017+ cars because the pipes are shorter on the new muffler. Once installed, they only stick out a bit more than the stock 2017+ tips - maybe halfway between the bumper and the stock tips.
In short, not worth it.

Despite the difference in the length? Wooow! Did not expect that. I decided to keep the exhaust and only change the tips for the look. That’s really bad.

Thanks for the information.

How much is the difference between these tips. I assume that the difference is what I will gain in length.

The JDM tips are 8” long, end to end.

The JDM tips may be physically longer than the 2017+ USDM tips, but once installed some of that length goes to the front of the car as well. So the additional 3" doesn't all go towards the back.
Easiest way to explain this is with a quick photochop of the stock photo i posted earlier in this thread. This is roughly how it looks.

Definitely not worth the ~$150
I wish there would be a non-welding extension option of the muffler pipe and use the original tips

Thanks for the picture

JDM BRZ/GT-86 Exhaust Tips

If the JDMs are 8” it will be a different story!
Earlier here it was mentioned that the JDMs are 7”.

I was not able to find it anywhere. To reconsider the tips I got some measurements from my MY19.

While the Lower length is around 4.5” the upper length is a quarter or max 1/2 quarter less than 6”

If the JDM is 7, it’s not a dramatic difference (still some and better IMO). But if the JDMs are 8” that will make a real difference.

As shown in the picture below;

The bolt holes are at the same position as shown in the picture previously. That means 8-5.75=2.25” more than the stock is coming out. It will get almost flush with the bumper at the angle of the plastic. Which I think will dramatically change the look.

Would really appreciate if anyone else can confirm Yoshoobarooo in terms of the 8”length or check his/her JDMs. Meanwhile I assume that the OD (4.25” ) and the shape (longer on the upper and shorter on the lower) as the stock.

Appreciate any reply!

Thanks

My measurement was at the top, so the long end.
