Hate to parrot what JR said but I agree. I drove my car with the same setup you have last winter in sub freezing temps and didnt have any issues.

Clean your MAF sensor. A dirty MAF affects the entire RPM range, but affects idle most!

Reporting back from track weekend.
Last time I took the car for a shake down at an HPDE event and car ran fine all day. I went on a 2 days time trials at Laguna Seca. Car ran flawlessly all day. The CARB tune and street tires put me in the midpack of my run group. The power delivery is smooth and linear, perhaps too smooth and linear that it felt drama-less - in a good way While still no match with most cars purely in acceleration department, I wasn't far off to most except some really fast ones The smooth and linear power delivery induces high confidence, and I noticed that within 2 sessions I was pretty much pedal to metal all the time, so much I literally ran full tank of gas in the next 2 sessions. I had little under 1/5th tank when I prep'ed to exit and that's when session ended. I filled up the tang and did the calculation: 7.2 miles / gallon! At 2.238 miles, a gallon gives just little over 3 laps... Not that using gas bothers me, but this means I need to watch my fuel more closely than what I am used to. Lesson here is to those tracking their JRSC'ed FRS/BRZ, don't forget to check fuel level every lap !! Oh, engine temp stayed cool all day, never went near half mark Happy supercharging

my understanding is that these cars' oil temp gets pretty high even in stock form. The obdii port has oil temp readout but no gauge displays that critical info. I think any modded engine that sees hard use should have the oil cool installed.

I'm aware of the nessecity of the oil cooler for track use. I'm more or less on the edge of making the plunge into taking my car to the track but knowing myself it may become a hobby that has my interest one or two track days then I'll just walk away from it like it didn't happen.Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Before I was boosted, I monitored my oil temperatures on the track. Highest I saw was 275 F. Ambient temperature was 85. I'm running 5W-30. I sent the oil to Blackstone labs and they said it was fine.
