I wonder how the BRZ would look w/ a STi hood scoop.

there's a big space between the hood & engine, almost like it was designed w/ sticking a intercooler on top. i think it might come in 2015.

Sadly, I think it would ruin the lines of the car. The WRX pulls it off because it's the automotive equivalent to a pug: it's just so damned ugly that it's cute.

This car is sleek. The WRX hoodscoop would be the visual equivalent of giving your greyhound a body length mohawk.

Methinks this particular vehicle is just much better suited for supercharging. If electric superchargers go mainstream, I would think that would be the perfect application for this vehicle.

Besides, with an electric supercharger, couldn't you impliment much better electronic controls to vary boost pressure in accordance with engine RPM, and allow a higher charge while maintaining durability?

Actually Rampant Renders did a sort of STI hood scoop, and it does not look all that bad. If could actually be functional and not be in the way, I kind of like it Here is the link to the thread with the renders.

it will look like crap if it's the "tacked-on" type like on the my02-my07 wrx/sti...

it might work if it's the sleek/integrated type found on the my08-my12 wrx/sti, like the one Draco233 referenced...

just my 2cents

My buddy Ryan just did this one. Not too into the rim color, but figured I'd share. Seems a lil dead in here...

Yea. There's space for an intercooler between the hood & engine, so that's what makes me suspect a scoop. But i too think it has a high probability of screwing up the looks. it also might be annoying because of the low seating, being in the line of sight while youre driving.

can anyone photoshop a maroon/burgundy FR-S? lowered on black or gunmetal 10 spoke rims maybe? not a very "japanese sports car kinda color", but I love 350z's and maserati granturimos that came in that color.

I doubt they'll offer the deep concave face in 5/100, unfortunately; that's more of a low-offset fitment, and I'm guessing the FR-S/BRZ will be a mid-offset.

Anyone able to to a quick shop of the black BRZ limited or something similar on the Tenzo Tracer rims? Been trying to get a feel if these rims would look good with the black pearl limited BRZ with the red accents in the interior.

Yea that would be a deal breaker for me. Any scoop would have to be minimal. I would prefer a recessed hood on the sides that led into two smaller scoops. That way the hood would stay flat & easy to see over.
