Scion FR-S, Limited slip dif (LSD)?

I know subaru makes a big deal about their cars having a LSD, but it is completely absent from the scion website as far as I can tell. This is a major decision factor for eventually choosing the subaru over the scion. Does the scion come with a LSD?

I believe it has it as well. Both cars are pretty much identical. I think its a Torsen LSD.

Yes, standard on all US models. I think there is a lower-trim model of the GT-86 available in foreign markets that doesn't have it, but all US models do.

It's odd that scion has no info about this anywhere though, when I test drove one yesterday the salesman had no idea if it had it or not. Even the FR-S manual he gave me had no mention anywhere of a limited slip diff.

I believe it's on the window sticker.

Subaru probably makes it highly visible because most of their customers will be scratching their heads and asking "What do you mean it doesn't have AWD?"

I tell it has it just from driving it.

if you make a sharp turn from a stop you can hear the tire chirp without trying

Yes, it has an awesome 4 way Torsen LSD. It is listed in the New Car features guide, repair manual, and in the 2 lines on the pavement when you do a burnout or drift it.

Yup, it is, I saw it listed on the window sticker of an FR-S a few nights ago, under "Standard Equipment: Mechanical and Performance"

All FR-S and BRZ models in North America come equipped with a Torsen T2 LSD.

Thanks for the name of the unit.

Here's the manufacturer's info page for the T2.

Yeah - Toyota calls it an FD20AT but Torsen says it is a T2 style.

From the NCF
Quote:
1. OUTLINE
(a) The rear differential has been designed in accordance with model FD20AT torque-sensitive limited slip differential (torsen LSD) specifications respectively.
(b) Low-viscosity multi-grade oil has been adopted for FD20AT differential to lower resistance to stirring and bearing rolling resistance, out of concern for reducing fuel consumption.
(c) Traction loss has been reduced by optimizing differential limitation power with model FD20AT, improving vehicle controllability.
The Torsen T2 link (not T2R)

It was on my FR-S's window sticker as well.

You can feel it for sure... so wish my MR2 had one.

when you say you can feel it, what do you mean?

my si has a limited slip diff, but since it's fwd i imagine it would feel different on a rwd car.
