I also asked to have my spark plugs changed and my timing cover power washed to remove all the sludge from the oil leaks.

Fingers crossed that everything goes well...
I got my car back this week, and so far all seems well. I'm probably ~60mi in since I got it back and I haven't noticed any leaks.

I still have that ticking noise from my engine (which was pre-existing) and the technician thought it was coming from cylinder #3. Having done some more research, I think it actually might be the vacuum pump; if that's true, it seems that would be an easy fix. I think it's worth a shot and I've asked about getting that replaced and am waiting to hear back from the dealer.

It's funny, while my car was in the shop, I thought about possibly trading it in. I'm interested in the F80 M3 (and even test drove one last weekend), but as I keep driving my FR-S, I'm starting to realize how much I missed it. I really do like this car. I guess 3 weeks in a corolla will do that to you. Although, the corolla's LED headlights were awesome, I want LED headlights now.

Oh here are the tech's notes in case anyone was curious:

Rocker arm fell off.. good god you have to be freaking kidding me. I am amazed that didn't become catastrophic. Maybe next time they perform the recall they will compression test before putting the engine back in the car and cranking it.

Hmmm... I don't see a second valve clearance inspection after the damaged rocker was replaced. o_0

Because they just lay there. They don’t snap or lock onto anything. Once the cam is bolted over the top they will no longer move. Basically one fell out of place (which they will do the if you look at one funny)and they bolted the cam in not even noticing one was just laying there. Then to top it off they didn’t bother to inspect the rocker that was bouncing around in there before bolting everything back together for the second time. So they pulled the engine again and installed a new rocker and pivot.

Just thinking about this more. To get the rocker back under the cam they would have to pull the cam off which means pulling the cover and chains just to turn around and do it all over again when they realized the rocker was damaged. I’m surprised they got the car back within a week considering they basically did the bulk of the job three times.

Do you just mean cold engine or very cold outdoor temps?

Got my recall notice in the mail. What are the odds a crooked dealer does not even do the work, and signs off on the recall? I don't trust dealers at all, and how can you ever tell they removed the head, etc? Has anyone gotten this recall done yet?
