New Wheels - 1 of which doesnt fit right...
So I just received new wheels 18x9.5 et 38 all around. I put 255/35/18s on them and 3 out of 4 wheels/tires fit great, however the one on the driver side front is sticking out a good inch more than the others. I have checked the wheel and its definitely the same specs as the others, as is the tire. Could my camber be that out of wack its causing this? Im going to get an alignment tomorrow but figured it couldnt hurt to ask ahead of time.
Below is a picture of the wheel in question and a side shot of the car which shows how it should fit. https://www.dropbox.com/s/yj9pdim132cd7kb/1.jpeg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/gled77rari8ne8s/2.jpeg?dl=0 |

Swap wheels to another corner and go from there. Or put two wheels laying on the ground next to each other and see if they look the same, and measure the thickness of where it mounts to the hub. Sometimes Chinese manufacturers may let one slip by(same with tires). And you can't compare a front to a rear, they fit differently. But it's definitely possible that your alignment is off pretty bad, or the wheel is a +30 that was destined to be machined down and drilled to a 5x114.3, or maybe its a 10.5? What brand are the wheels?

I've had many issues come up with 1 or more rims with different specs compared to the rest in a set. Rims come with stamps on the rear of them dictating specifications of the wheel, however, knock off wheels (chinese wheels aren't the only ones to blame here) use the same molds and re-drill or re-use the molds for different specs. Dont go 100% by the stampings unless from a solid manufacturer. (even some known manufacturers slip up sometimes)
My guess for your situation is one is a different offset. Lower the offset typically the more it pokes. Measuring offset is fairly simple, there are many write ups on how to do this. If this is the case, contact who you purchased them from or even the manufacturer themselves. Usually they will help you out. Good luck |

Take two wheels off.
Use ruler + tape measure to measure backspacing. Measure width of wheel. -alex |

By the way the 255 is stretched on a supposed 9.5, that wheel looks like a 10.5

There's no way that one is a 9.5" wheel, that 255 is way too stretched compared to the other 3.

I don't know the reason but they're all like that, well a lot anyway, if you're anal and have flush or poke wheels you'll notice it even more.. My front right is slightly further out on my 86 and the same with my 08 Corolla..

Any updates?? Forget what spec the wheel is stamped with, try swapping the wheel to the other side on the front and see how it fits there.
